Hi! I just want to thank Pojo fer making an awesome pokemon web site! I love
the card strategies! But anyway, I'd like to talk about a great card! LT.
Surge's Raichu and pikachu!
First of all, lets look at pikachu:
50 hp isn't that great, but at least keeps pika around for about two, or
three turns at the beginning of the game. But it is always better than 40 ^
_^ Pikachu has a great first turn move in Charge, which is why you should
use another electric pokemon beforehand, just in case you use charge. After
you use charge, you can lighting tail for 20 damage, not that much, and with
the coin flip, this pikachu is not the best. But has a fifty-fifty chance of
paralysis isn't that bad. But this pikachu has a certain cause )which I will
explain later) pika's weakness is of course ground. (besides aerodactyl, how
many fighters do peeps use?) and a one energy retreat.
Raichu on the other hand is a powerhouse pokemon! 70 hp is one tough
customer, and will be hard to get rid of. Rai can attack with a low energy
costing one-two mega punch, which is a great way to wait for the energy to
thunderbolt. All of you are probably shaking your heads, and saying. "boy,
isn't he a energy removal magnet?" But here is where pikachu comes in.
Charge as many times as possible while in pika form, and then evolve to
emediantly thunderbolt at least once (or twice if your lucky) The only bad
things about this extraordinary pokemon is it's weakness to ground and it's
retreat cost of two energies, but having a dodrio around can help that (at
least a little)
Want to know how good this strategy is? Okay here is a mock fight, of
Raichu vscharizard. Rai has 6 el tric energies (from your electric
energies
and pikachu's charge attack) 5 electric energies in your hand, with two
Pluspowers . Char has been slightly weakened (by pikachu's lightening tail)
for 40 damge but still has two energies It's your turn, now you use a mega
puch for 30 damage, Char attaches a fire energy and waits. You can either
attach the two pluspowers to conquor the Char, or use thunderbolt to blast
him. This is not actualy the greatest battle, but Raic is still powerfull
Raichu will probably be one of the more neglected Gym leader cards, it is
affected by what I like to call "Zapdos syndrome" Where peeps look at
Thunderbolt and avoid mega punch and pikachu's charge. Many peeps say, oh,
it's a stupid pokemon with a dumb energy wasting attack. But with Mega
punch, it is a killer.
Raichu is my favorite pokemon, and I use him in all my decks, and all I'm
asking is that you do to.
and just for fun, here is my bench shocker deck
