Well The JoZ is back
again to dispense some wisdom on the Pokemon TCG.
Time and Time again, people write to Pojo with Top 10 lists. Don't get me
wrong, I have nothing against them. It reflects their views on the Pokemon
TCG. However....too many people write list, that people disagree with.
Mainly for lack of certain "broken cards". Example. The Top Ten
Base Thru
TR. Yes I did comment on it, but I did not BASH the author or anything.
However certain people (who's names I will NOT mention) down him for certain
card (or lack thereof) on his list.
Case in point, the author of the top ten put Charizard in the #4 spot. Some
people disagreed by saying "He's a stage two" "can only attack
twice in a
row" "Has 90 hp" (which is Wrong as base Charizard has 120 Hp)
I am no
Charizard freak or nothing, but I am sick of hearing how bad he is. Has
anyone ever thought about putting MORE THAN 4 ENERGIES ON HIM AT ONCE????????
If you pumped a Charizard with lets say 10 Fire energies or more, then you
could go and Fire Spin 4 prizes away. 4!! Yes I do know about ER and SER.
But why not slap a No Removal Gym down, to make it costlier for your opponent
to siphon Charizards energy away???
The author is also ridiculed for having Poliwhirl in the list. While I agree
that he is not that good, he is not the worst stage one out there. Granted
Scyther COULD kill him in one shot. But with amnesia, Scyther can't hurt
Poliwhirl.
Personally, I think the whole game is based too much on "broken"
cards. It
seems that if it isnt broken, its not good. Too much emphasis is being put
on the archetypical Haymakers, and Wiggly. Yes they ARE good in their own
right. But nearly every card has a use (with a few exceptions). Cards
that
need any real STRATEGY seem to be shunned for cards that need little to no
strategy at all. Such as many of the Haymakers and Wiggly. Their only
"strategy" is to be attacking by turn two/three. That's it. No real
thinking
involved. No I am not calling anyone who uses them stupid, but more like
boring. The game should be fun, not the drudgery of Jab, Jab, Jab....
Wave,
Wave Wave.
Whereas cards that are useful with good planning and strategy (such as
Charizard and Snorlax) are left in the dust
I'm out.
