Hey everyone! This is the DarKnight with my first
post! (loud cheers in background) Thank you, thank you. 'Ahem.' Now, some of you
may be thinking, "What is needed to be cleared up about the Brock's
Protection/Brock's Ninetales Shapeshift combo?" Well, for those who don't know,
his power states, "Once during your turn (before your attack), you may attach an
Evolution card from your hand to Brock's Ninetales. (This doesn't count as
evolving Brock's Ninetales.) Treat Brock's Ninetales as if it were that Pokemon
instead. It can't evolve, devolve, or use the Pokemon Power of that Pokemon.
During your turn, you may discard the Evolution card Attached to Brock's
Ninetales. This power can't be used if Brock's Ninetales is Asleep, Confused, or
Paralyzed. If Brock's Ninetales becomes Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed, discard
all Evolution cards attached to it."
Now you're wondering, "What is this idiot getting
at?"
Well, the power clearly states that when you use
Brock's Ninetales' power to become an Evolution of something, you treat Brock's
Ninetales as that Pokemon instead. So it's NOT Brock's Ninetales anymore, it's
the Evolution. So if you attach Brock's Protection to Brock's Ninetales and use
Shapeshift, Brock's Protection will have NO EFFECT (unless the Evolution is a
Brock's Pokemon) because the Evolution isn't Brock's Ninetales. As an example,
many people use Brock's Ninetales and Brock's Protection in their Tyranitar
decks. They evolve to Brock's Ninetales, attach Brock's Protection, and then
Shapeshift into Tyranitar, so it has unremovable Darkness and Rainbow energies.
The thing is, Brock's Protection won't work after you Shapeshift into Tyranitar,
because Brock's Ninetales isn't Brock's Ninetales anymore, it's Tyranitar, and
Brock's Protection ONLY works on Brock's Pokemon. Hope everyone understands
this, and if you don't, e-mail me and I'll explain. I may not reply right away,
because I don't check my e-mail very often, but, when I get your e-mails, I'll
reply as soon as possible. Thanks!
