We've been to the STSQs. (Even if it was only for the 15+ side
events...)
We've seen the killer deck reports section flourish in the water
category.
Feraligatr rules all Modified.
However, Neo Revelation has changed that. Crobat is here to try to
mess with
the big gator...Since they're both 3-turn guys, it can come down to a
battle
of who can get set first.
Parasect can be on either side of the coin. It can help Gatr keep
energy in
the discard pile, or it can stop it from getting there. Let's look at
the
flip sides of each situation:
Gatr player playing Parasect:
Upsides:
Player does not need to do further card drawing/exchanging after original
Riptide,
This hurts Chaos Gym playing opponents
100+ damage PER TURN...possibility of one-shotting a Steelix EVERY
TURN...maybe a Steelix even WITH Metal
Downsides
Player must play Parasect after Gatr is set
Player can not play a full Parasect line because of deck space
restrictions...2/2 would be a common thing, and you know what happens when
a
2/2 line is played...
Player can possibly deck themself without being able to shuffle water back
in...no viable way to shut it off
Player playing Parasect AGAINST Gatr player
Upsides:
Player can drop Parasect uninhibited--as quickly as Turn 2--one turn BEFORE
the other player would want it dropped
Player can use Parasect's attack to do 60 for 2 against anyone in the Gatr
line
Downsides:
Opponent Gatr player using Igglybuff will have control if Parasect is not
Active--using Gaze when water must be discarded, not using Gaze when they
want the water to stay
Gatr player can use Misty's Wrath to discard water if absolutely
necessary
This has potential on either side of the Feraligatr deck.

P.S. I just want to go on record saying I hate formats, the only
thing that
should be banned is WotC's ability to ban, and forever live Haymaker.
