Dear PoJo,
Love the site!  Fingering through the Stratagies
section I noticed yet ANOTHER pointless post about the
big three, and telling everyone to "Build an Original
Deck".
Well...that more or less got me REALLY hot under the
collor.  The reason? The fact that in the current
tourney environment the Big Three dominate.  Sure
there are off the wall concepts, but STILL...show me a
truly original deck that makes it past the second
round in a tourney where the Big Three are prevolent
and I'll eat my Charizard.  By the way, the reason I'm
a little abrassive on the issue of original decks is
because in Delaware, the big tourney in the state
features 3 real Haymakers, out of a field of 20...and
last time my Haymaker pretty much ran the field, icing
everything.
So the Big Three run tournies...that means we should
play them all the time right? H--- no.  It gets boring
CONSTANTLY playing a Haymaker.  So, that is where
bashing of the Big Three needs to come in, while
playing normal casual games.  Sheesh...my moronic
friend, Tyler Miller, used to play Haymaker ALL the
time.  He thought he was all that because he clobbered
everyone...if he only could get it through his head
that Haymaker is the equivelent of a Mewtwo in the
Pokemon the Card Game.  Again, this is GB Mewtwo, the
Omni one.
The whole point of this article? Play what works at
tournies, don't let people rag you for playing a big
bad Big Three deck when it counts.  But, during
casual, non-important games.  Branch out! Experiment!
I have dabbled with a Ninetales Lure deck, a
Ditto/Clefable Copy deck, an Agility Deck, and a
really weird refit Power Reserve, all the while
maintaining strong Haymaker and Rain Dance decks.
Peace out.

May the Force be with you....
