hey pojo, it would be awesome if you post this because
i'm sure a lot of readers can relate with what i'm
saying.

a quick introduction: i'm 16, an ex-m:tg player and
now a regular pokemon player. i wasn't planning on
playing pokemon after experiencing and tiring of
magic, but my little brother started and hooked me. =)
the problem is, the same old stuff that happened with
magic is developing here...

correct me if i'm wrong, but is pokemon not a game
designed for the younger crowd, with it's cartoon
appearance and all? if so, why are boosters hitting
SEVEN DOLLARS A PACK in some stores in my area??? not
even for first edition! there are exceptions, but
obviously these stores are planning on getting the
absolute most they can charge. and why is it possible?
because of collectors. collectors buy cards and hold
them, seeing how much money they can get for these
pieces of cardboard, with the occasionally
glittery-foil picture.

They completely ruin the game for the players, who
just want to trade a alakazam or venusaur, which they
like and think are good, for a charizard, just because
they don't have a grass or psychic deck. perfectly
reasonable, i say, but the price guides don't think
so. and what's the deal with mewtwo being so much
money? IT BLOWS! i don't care if it's holo or not, it
still does the same thing. which is where collectors
come in again. trust me, i've been through this with
magic, i like to think i know what i'm talking about.
so basically what i'm getting at is: COLLECTORS RUIN
TRADING CARD GAMES. if you hate me now, sorry, but
that's just the way it is. :(
