First off, I like this site very much. Now I always
see people with to many pokemon or to less. Another thing, you do not have to
make a deck whith only basics. I've seen decks that evolve a lot win aginst
decks that do not. I go by these Rules:
1. 12-15 basic pokemon
2. 3-6 evolved pokemon
3. 18 pokemon total
4. 20-25 energy
5. 15-22 trainers
6. one color with multiple weaknesses
7. base your deck around 2-3 pokemon
Let us make a deck with say grass. Good grass pokemon
are: Nidoking, Vileplume, Scyther, Buterfree, Pinsir, Exeggutor. Lets chose
Nidoking and Exeggutor.
Now that we have are stars lets get their lower forms.
Now we need some help with colerless or grass pokemon.
Jiggly and Wiggly are more than a match for psycic. Scyther has resistance to
fighting(Jiggly's and Wiggly's weakness). I prefer to use resistance to counter
weakness. Now for energy. Lets have 20 grass energy and 4 dce.
Our deck should look like this:
20 Grass Energy
4 dce
4 Nidoran(M)
2 Nidorino
1 Nidoking
3 Exeggucte
2 Exeggutor
3 Jigglypuff
1 Wigglytuff
2 Scyther
This is 24 energy 18 pokemon. Now for trainers. Some
trainers that would work good in this deck are: Proffesor Oak, Bill, Pokemon
Breeder, Computer Search, Plus Power, Potion, E.R., S.E.R. A pokemon breeder
helps Nidoking out. Bill, Proffesor Oak and Computer Search helps get cards out
faster. Potion cause your own pokemon get dameged to. Plus Power helps kill your
opponet faster. So lets have, 1 Pokemon Breeder, 2 Proffesor Oak, 3 Bill, 2
Computer Search, 4 Potion, 4 Plus Power. Now our deck looks like this:
20 grass energy
4 DCE
4 Nidoran(M)
2 Nidorino
1 Nidoking
3 Exeggucte
2 Exegguctor
3 Jiggly
2 Wiggly
2 Scyther
1 Pokemon Breeder
2 Poffesor Oak
3 Bill
2 Computer Search
4 Potion
4 Plus Power
And there you have it, a great deck. I play with almost
the same deck and it has gone 19 wins, 1 loss(do to a no good cheater that
dosen't no how to use clefairy doll).
