Hello! This is first time I'm writing the Top 10. Hope you like
it.
WARNING: If you don't like reading, this is going to hurt you ALOT more than
it's going to hurt me.
For those of you who have recieved the new Gym Challenge cards, it is easy
to see that these cards just might breed original decks or, dare I say, new
archetypes. Let us take a look at a few of these new combos. Or at least the
Top 10.(This may take a while)Oh, and they may not be in a real Top 10
order, depending on how it sounds after I write it.
10. Sabrina's Hypno and Gust. Easy enough to explain. Use Invigorate(?) to
get back an easy prize, Gust it out and KO (hopefully)with Pendulum Curse.
Sure this will take two turns to do, and it requires that they've discarded
or you've Ko'ed a poke, but that's why it's number 10.
9.Giovanni's Meowth and Jungle Mankey. Ok, this does require a coin flip,
but you peek at your opponent's top card of their deck, then use False
Charity to discard that top card, if it is a trainer. True both have low HP
and stinky attacks, but you may be able to stall your opponent....okay, it's
bad. Maybe in a deck for beginner's. But it is a combo.
8.Sabrina's Kadabra and Sabrina's ESP. Don't you hate it when your game
relies on a coin flip to win? Or you really need to KO a Charizard with
poison before it takes out your Pokemon? Sabrina's ESP is good for making
sure you'll get heads. With Kadabra's Life Drain, who wouldn't want another
chance of reducing that Chansey's HP to ten if they blew it the first time?
Just attach ESP to Kadabra and you've got a good way of reducin' HP. But if
you goof the second time, you're screwed.
7.Blaine's Last Resort and Blaine's Gamble. Yeah, this is technically from
Gym Heroes, but it's a good idea. Unless your hand is super good, use
Blaine's Gamble and get rid of your whole hand except for Blaine's Last
Resort. Flip. If heads, draw lots of cards, if tails, use Last Resort and
you get five.
6. Sabrina's Gastly and Sabrina. While I thought the Sabrina trainer had
absolutely no use, I saw Ms. Sabrina's Gastly. It's Pokemon Power says that
every time you attach a psychic energy, it gains 10 HP. And Wizards didn't
make a limit. Your opponent will probably see what you're attempting to do
if lil' ole Gastly's got 5 energy on him, so attach to someone else. Then
use Sabrina to move that energy to Gastly. 120 Hp for Gastly? Sure. But you
might want to put in some No Removal Gyms so they don't Super ER you into
oblivion.
5. Giovanni's Persian and Giovanni. Use Persian to find something with
Giovanni in it's name and play Giovanni. No more weakling Magikarps!(He does
have a Gyarados, right?)
4.Misty's Gyarados and Muk. The first defiant Pokemon, Misty's Gyarados is
tough to play(Seriously though, would you listen to a whiny brat like
Misty?)But it's attack has no drawbacks and takes out every Haymaker
pokemon(does Lapras count? Then it's almost every Hay pokie). Solution: Muk.
Yes, that nose goblin has a new use.(A nose goblin is a boogie, folks)Now,
you can play Gyarados without fear of losing it in your deck!
3. Blaine and Blaine's Arcanine. Yes, the newest Arcanine that can wipe out
every pokemon in the game(except for a Sabrina's Gastly with 14
energies)Charge it up sooner with Blaine. You get to attach an extra energy
for this turn only. Plus you don't want to lose those energies, so throw in
that infamous gym of no removing.
2. Resistance Gym with basically any psychic, but especially Mewtwo.
Resistance Gym Lowers Everybody's resistance to -10. Now MP Mewtwo can do 30
damage to Wiggly! Better than 10, right?
Ah, the number one spot. It goes to ....
1. Sabrina's Golduck, Alakazam base, and Rocket's Minefield Gym. You are
like, "huh?", but I've thought about this one. It'll take some thorough
explaining so hold on to your butts, this ain't gonna be NO cakewalk.
First, get out Sabrina's Golduck. It's first attack, no coin flip required,
allows you to remove one damage counter(only ONE)from each of your bench to
the defending pokemon. "But what if only one of your bench has
damage?" you
say. For all you pessimists, use Alakazam to move one to your whole bench
and Active. That's 60 damage a turn. But how do you get damage quickly?
Minefield gym gets you 20 damage if you flip tails when putting a basic on
your bench.(Wizards didn't write it correctly, but I know the
translation)See? Instant Wiggly damage for less than your paying now! That
is why this deserves to be a surefire combo. True it has flaws, but less
coin flips that will actually determine a game. Y'know, any of you still
reading, send me a deck you built using this strategy. I'd really like to
play it, but two heads ARE better than one, and I'll try to post it on this
site.
That's all she wrote today. And I'd like to thank everyone who made it
this far down my report and of course Pojo.com, even if I have irritated
them alot.(you have no idea how much I send to this site, though I'm sure
I'm not alone.)Feel free to e-mail me if you please and I am accepting pleas
for help with decks. BYE!!
