Hey Pojo !
My name is Mette Hansen Rothmar, calling you from Denmark ! If
you have any ideas or comments to this e-mail, please mail me at rothmar@post.tele.dk
Anyway...
I have a cousin in the age of 11, adopted from Africa. She
did'nt knew about Pokémon, until recently, when it was her birthday. I was
there, along with her "mom" and my parents. We gave her 5 booster
packs. 3 Basic and 2 Jungle, since I find these better starters than Rocket,
Gym Heroes and even fossil.
She was very excited, and when we finished dinner, I gave her a
present from me - the holy starter deck (c'mon, we've all been there !), and I
taught her how to play the game.
We have'nt had a Pokémon League here in Denmark, but I take
her to class leauges at my school - it only involves my class, though. Now,
soon (well, maybe) it's christmas, and I'm a bit short on cash, since I'm
saving for a Nintendo 64. But then I realized, that A LOT of children in my
school are selling cards at very low prices - for example, 3 Rocket Dratini, 3
Dark Dragonair and a hole Dragonite for about 2 - 3 $. And really, I don't
want to sell my cards. So I wen't to by a basic booster (strangely enough),
and NOOO !!!
I've got 11 cards - including 1 Poliwrath and a Poliwag. I know
Poliwrath is deffinatly not a bad card, but I have 5 of them at home. And this
is my 21st Poliwag (one from my class has 32 Abra's).
So I thought awhile about christmas, and my cousin, and here is
what I'm going to give her : A deck I made with one holo-card (Poliwrath) and
common and uncommons. I even printed out a decklist, like the one you get when
you buy a theme-deck. Plus, I gave her 2 Jungle packs.
Well, I just wanted to tell you, that if you have anyone in
you're family that you are going to buy Pokémon-presents for (who are fairly
new to the game) then buy them a couple of booster packs, and make your own
theme deck with ONE Holo card, and maybe even make a decklist. Just a good tip
for those who have an enourmos amount of holo's that you are'nt using that
much, and if you don't have all that much cash for presents.
Hi from
Mette (happy holiday).
