Hey Pojo,
I recently went to wotC's website and found out that
for the East Coast STS you need to have a deck with
less than 15 trainers and no more than 3 of any card
other than basic energy.
I decided to go over all of the current best decks and
figure out what pokemon have potential in this new
format.
Haymaker
Haymakers may meet their end in the STS. Most hays have
high trainer amounts and low energy and pokemon. Some
people may have to resort to old fashioned hays
(hitmonchan, hitmonlee, electabuzz, scyther, and
farfetched) if they still wanna play hays.
Raindance
Raindance decks also tend to have high trainer amounts.
But I think good players should be able to find a way
to adapt their raindances to this new format.
Wigglytuff
HORRAY!! No More Wiggly's.I'd Be really shocked to see
alot of wiggly's in the STS.It would be hard to get a
second turn wiggly with only three jiggly and wiggly
with a limited amount of trainers.
Trapper
I predict that trappers will also meet their doom
because of lack of trainers. The only way I could think
of building a trapper in this format is to have 3 RSA,
TR trap, and Imp. Oak's Revenge along with 3 Item
finder and 3 oak but I seriosly doubt that would work.
On to the pokemon!
Ninetales might make a big appearance in STS because of
it's 80 damage shot for four energy. People can now
forget about the discarding because there will probably
alot more energy in most decks.
Arcanine was overlooked because he had to discard or
hurt itself to do damge and because he was stage two
but with the fall of most haymakers it's popularity
might grow
Dark Raichu will probably make a big appearance because
of its bench hitting power.
Golduck, Dragonair, and Misty's Poliwhirl might appear
Because of their removal attacks.
Thats it.
