Okay, first of all, I dispute the fact that you cannot use swift to... Oh. I'm sorry. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. It's very confusing. The baby rule is not transcended by anything. Not even Swift or Feint Attack. Read the Baby:

Whenever your opponent tries to ATTACK, and (this pokemon)* is your active pokemon, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, your opponent's turn ends immediately. (They do not get to attack.)

*I think it says "this pokemon". I'm writing this from memory. It may say something like "this baby pokemon".

Now, read Swift and Feint Attack:

This ATTACK's DAMAGE is not affected by weakness, resistance, pokemon powers, trainers, or any other effects on the defending pokemon.

Well, it right there says it's an ATTACK. The baby rule says "whenever your opponent tries to ATTACK". Not, "whenever your opponent tries to do damage". This leads me to believe Swift and Feint don't bypass that baby rule. Shoot! But, I wonder if Rocket's Mewtwo's Juxtapose, Sabrina's Golduck's Damage Shift, or Sabrina's Kadabra's Life Drain are affected: Their texts all have one crucial part in them: "Put damage counters..." Does "putting" count as "attacking"? Hmm... Pojo people, please try to get in contact with some of the Wizards and find out if this bypasses the baby rule. You can post it publicly or e-mail me and I'll post it: rrwriter@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Now, more technicalities:
Base Magnemite + Gold Berry-Defender in Gold Berry's place would do the job; defender and Berry (just berry, no gold about it) would work like this was supposed to, but not Gold berry by itself. In between turns you may remove the damage, say Gold Berry. Well, there's not going to BE an in between turns period for a self destructed Magnemite. The attack says something like, "... Magnemite does 40 damage to itself..." Right then and there, it knocks itself out. No time for Gold Berry. It would be discarded with Magnemite, what a waste!

Lugia + Rainbows won't work: Who says? The text says to discard one FIRE (rainbow counts as fire, but it isn't really fire) energy, one LIGHTNING (" " " " " " " " ") energy, and one WATER (" " " " " " " " ") energy card. So, it DOES work. I still, however, think Lugia is too costly to be used. Hint: Muk/Goop Gas + M's Gyardos + Misty. Same effect, but better.

Now, let's look at some strategies for two of the nastiest dark ones out there: Sneasel and Tyrannitar. Noctowl, you start. I'll take Sneasel, you take Mr. T AND NONE OF THAT FILTHY ARCHETYPE JUNK EITHER!

Noctowl: Okay, okay. Here we are:

Unown D: D is for DUH! of course use Unown D. But use it at the right time; Your opponent probably won't send out Mr. T before they're ready to Trample (unless they have to). Slam's to risky. But, they won't send out Mr. T until they get their own Unown D in play, either. Well, when they are powered up like that, play your D. The max damage your active coul take is 60 (if they have 4 darks on it; doubtful), and your bench won't even get scratched. But you know what's awesome? Read the last part of the DARK Pokemon Power: (This power stops working when another Unown D comes into play)
Sweet! Now your opponent probably won't attack with Trample, since they won't be able to attack your bench, just their own. They use slam, the max you could get is 70 (4 darks, doubtful, and two heads, doubtful). Just remember, they probably have more than one D in their deck (unless they are trying to utilize FIND or UNDO), and they could use scoop up, or super scoop up, put it back down, and then you'd be the one one at the disadvantage. Include more Unown D or your own Scoop ups (super's okay, but regular doesn't require a coin flip) in your deck to counter. Over to you, Nite Owl.

Nite Owl: Thanks, so here it is for Sneasel.

Chaos (or whichever suits your deck) Gym + Super Energy removal-You probably all know this already, but in case you don't, here we go. Sneasel's Main weakness: Energy removal. Super, to be exact. So, your opponent uses Ecogym for protaction. This is almost parralel to the Unown D thing. Throw out Chaos (again, or whichever suits your deck)Gym, they discard Eco, and have to face the new gym effect. Now, you can super energy removal (make sure you have Recycle energy to discard from one of your pokemon ^u^). This is, however, not very steady, as your opponent can regain either the ecogym or energy using cards such as item finder and such. Noctowl?

Noctowl: So far we've only talked about defense. Now let's talk about creamin' Mr. T.

Blai's Arcy-Oh, yeah! You'll most likely be able to get him ready and charged up before Mr. T is. The neat thing here is you can bypass 2 metal or 1 defender, and still have a 1-hit KO.

Hoppip (Neo D.)-Don't laugh! This is the best of all! Take Larvitar out in one hit, before it has a chance to evolve!

Nite Owl: Okay, Noctowl. You weren't supposed to do 2 in a row, but okay. Now, back to Sneasel:

Scy (base)-It's better than you think. First turn: Attach grass, Swords Dance. Second turn: If it doesn't come through the draw, use oak or computer searck to get DCE. Attach it to Scyther. Slash for 60. Sneasel today, gone tomorrow.

Well, that's all we have time for today, people.

Fly right,
Nite Owl

Like the wind,
Noctowl
