I've read a lot of posts like this, and it just ticks me off. I'm not a
Hasbro Exec or anything like that, but some people are just going too far.
>1.) Notice that all the American exclusive cards come out after Hasbro
bought >Wizards. Base Set 2 and Dark Raichu only came out after the purchase.
Sure, >Dark Raichu's in Neo 2 now, but who cares!? It was still an American
exclusive for >a while.
What does this have to do with Hasbro being greedy? You had to know that
they were going to reprint some of the cards eventually. They're just
making
Pokemon more like Magic, where they also reprint sets (Ever heard of 6th
Edition?).
>2.) What's up with Hasbro changing the rarity of cards? I mean, Misty's
Goldeen >and Tentacool, RARE?! Brock's Zubat, RARE?! I can GUARANTEE that the
only >reason that those were made rare is that little kids trying to
"Catch
'em all" will >spend tons of cash on getting the hard to find rares.
This game wasn't created as something for little kids to collect and look at
in a binder. It was created as another game for people to play. And,
as
I've said a million times, look at the Japanese versions of these cards.
THEY HAVE NO RARITY!!! Wizards/Hasbro had to choose how rare these would
be.
Now I can see the complaints about Misty's Goldeen and Brock's Zubat,
which
aren't particularly good, but Misty's Tentacool is awesome! Who cares what
it is, let's look at what it does!
>3.) In the Gym Leaders Expansion in Japan, the Brock, Misty, etc... cards
that >came in the decks were the holofoil version, with the leader showing
his or her >badge. Makes, sense, right? That's their Gym, they show their
badge.
>Does that happen in the American version? No! They give the non-holo version
in >each deck. There's no way they would give two holos in one deck! I'm
surprised >they even put in two rares!
You're surprised that they put in two rares? They've done it in two-thirds
of
the theme decks!!!! Besides, Wizards is completely independent
from the
company that makes the Japanese cards, so that's why the decks aren't exactly
the same!!!!!
>4.) Controversial Cards. Now, come on people.
> a. Misty's Tears. MISTY IS NOT NAKED! I
have the card. If you look
closely,> >you can see the sleeve and neck lines on her shirt.
Where? I have the card right in front of me right now, and it's NOT THERE!
If you can prove that I'm just blind right now, email me a picture with
arrows showing where the "shirt" is.
> b. Sabrina's Gaze - Some people think that Sabrina's hand
is flipping
you off. >SHE HAS HER ENTIRE HAND UP! She is not flipping you off! At least
Hasbro >changed the image and made the card, but I still think people are
being stupid.
Okay, I actually agree with you here. It just so happens that here middle
finger is longer than the others. Oh well.
> c. Koga's Secret Transformation Magic- IT IS NOT A
SWASTIKA! IT IS A
>MANJII! A GOOD LUCK CHARM! Even the Japanese were intimidated by Hasbro to
>change the image.
Okay, something else I've said a million times: Who is going to look at
that
and think "Oh, that's a Japanese good luck charm."?!?!?!?! I
opened a Gym 2
Booster, got that card, and was stunned that there was a swastika there. I
NEVER THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A MANJI!!!!!!
I hope that people think before they put down people or things that shouldn't
be put down.
