Hi, Pojo and all of your fans! This is the Dragon
Master. I've got something on a card that's been dead since Gym: Challenge that
people are still trying to break in today's game. That card is Sabrina's
Venomoth. And yes, the card is still viable. People need to realize how to break
it. And I can help.
Sabrina's Venomoth promotes two kinds of card
advantages. The first is stall. Yep, you heard me right, Stall. Healing Pollen
works miraculously with Alakazam. Alakazam swaps enough damage to even it out on
everybody, and Sabrina's Venomoth gets rid of it. I know, not many people play
with Alakazam because almost everything beats it, but Alakazam and Sabrina's
Venomoth can unite to conquer the weaknesses of each other. The other attack,
Sonic Distortion, nearly guarantees confusion, something to drive your opponent
crazy with while you get rid of all the damage. The second method is Jank. As
stated in the InSaNiTy Project, Jank is the same thing as it was in Magic: The
Gathering. It stalls while you play as many dirty tricks on your opponent as
possible. The deck we can use Sabrina's Venomoth in promotes both Jank and
Stall.
Magic Tricks:
Pokémon(20):
3 Sabrina's Venonat
3 Sabrina's Venomoth
4 Abra(Team Rocket)
1 Kadabra
3 Alakazam
3 Chansey
2 Cleffa(Neo Genesis)
1 Igglybuff(Neo Discovery)
Trainers(25):
3 Professor Elm
3 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
3 Gold Berry
2 Pokémon Breeder
2 No Removal Gym
2 Pokémon Center
2 Nightly Garbage Run
2 Gust of Wind
2 Lass
1 Super Energy Retrieval
1 Switch
Energy(15):
3 Double Colorless Energy
3 Metal Energy
5 Psychic Energy
4 Grass Energy
The goal of this deck is to use Sabrina's Venomoth and
Alakazam together to average damage counter removals of 6-12 per turn. Remember,
this is an idea, so change it to fit your style, but I'm telling you how the
deck works.
Having 20 Pokémon doesn't seem right, but this deck
kinda needs it. Sabrina's Venonat is there mostly to support Jank and evolve.
Poisonpowder induces first-turn Poison and then Removal Beam gets rid of their
Energy with a heads second turn. Sabrina's Venomoth is this deck's big card.
Healing Pollen averages 6-12 damage counter removals a turn and Sonic Distortion
helps keep opponents at bay with Confusion while you heal your Pokémon. I used
the Rocket Abra because while it still has the stalling Psyshock attack, this
time it's with a twist. This time around it can not only do that, but Alakazam
can swap 30 damage over to it and then it can Vanish back into your deck. I only
used 1 Kadabra because all you need is some Breeders to get Alakazam and Kadabra
is one reason why Alakazam was unviable once Sneasel and Slowking took over.
Since it only had 60 HP and no way of paralyzing or putting opponents to Sleep,
it was live bait for Sneasel and Slowking pretty much slaughtered your ability
to play Trainers. There were many other reasons, but those are just a few.
Kadabra is mostly TecH in this deck. When you need to, you can swap 50 damage
over and use Recover to get rid of it and then you can Super Psy next turn to
clean up. Anything weak to Psychic, such as Dark Muk or Hitmonchan, will be at
risk. As for Alakazam, he's another big one in this deck. Damage Swap helps
spread out your damage evenly so you can use numerous methods to get rid of it
all and then keep your opponent at bay. Though Confuse Ray has a chance for
confusion, anybody who knew how to play Alakazam would know to look for every
way possible to keep it Benched. This is why the lone Switch is included in the
deck. Chansey is included in the deck because it and Alakazam always work well
together. Scrunch drives opponents crazy for awhile and then you can Double-Edge
later to take-you-with-me, if you know what I mean, which most of you do. You
can also use the popular Steel Chansey method, attaching 2 Metal Energy and a
Double Colorless, allowing you to take only 40, which can be Gold Berried away,
and your opponent still has to take 60. Cleffa's Eeeeeeek attack is a must in
this deck when you can't use your Professor Elm. The lone Igglybuff is there in
case of Unown N or Slowking or Dark Vileplume, giving you a better chance to
play the needed Trainers. But, mostly for Unown N.
Professor Elm is there instead of Professor Oak this
time. Why, you ask? Well, Professor Elm is the better for stall decks because
instead of discarding and then drawing, it shuffles back in and then draws. The
only downside is not being able to play your Trainers immediately afterwards.
Computer Search and Item Finder are the most needed Trainers in nearly every
deck. Gold Berry is there because every deck needs it. The ability to remove 40
damage any time you want to is abusable with Chansey, Alakazam, Sabrina's
Venomoth, etc. Pokémon Breeder gets you the needed Alakazam on turn 2. No
Removal Gym stops ER/SER and Pokémon Center frustrates opponents to the max in
this deck. Nightly Garbage Run is there for a late game library restoration.
Gust of Wind is played defensive most of the time in this deck unless you're
taking out your opponent's big gun with Steel Chansey. Lass traps opponents on
turn 1 with Cleffa or it restores your library later on. Super Energy Retrieval
is TecH to get back Energy when you need it and Switch is TecH in case Alakazam
gets Gusted out into the Active position.
The 15 Energy may seem low, but hey, who said you would
use it on Alakazam or Igglybuff? You wouldn't! Psychic and Grass are there for
Abra, Kadabra, Sabrina's Venonat, and Sabrina's Venomoth. Metal and Double
Colorless are there for Chansey. Cleffa can use anything, so what else should I
say?
Well, remember, this is just an idea. Use it to your
advantage and fix it to suit your playing style.
If you liked this deck, don't miss my next deck, A
Bully's Worst Nightmare. Oh, by the way, I got the name for Grow Up or Meet Your
Doom by using the concept "evolve or be KOed." As for this deck, Magic Tricks,
Magic=Jank, Stall, and both of these methods have tricks.
