2 Beast-Warrior monsters, including a WIND “Ancient Warriors” monster
All “Ancient Warriors” monsters you control gain 500 ATK/DEF. You can only use each of the following effects of “Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords” once per turn. If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 “Ancient Warriors” card from your Deck to your hand. (Quick Effect): You can send 1 card from your hand or field to the GY, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; return it to the hand.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords is the archetypes Link 2 and a solid monster to gain advantage.

Unless you’d splash some Ancient Warriors into a Beast-Warrior strategy, this will be only used in its own archetype. 500ATK/DEF boost is good, but the search ability and bounce effect are what make it a popular monster to go to. Blanket archetype searcher upon Link Summon can get you back a resource spent for the Link Summon or get you a piece to continue pushing forward. The card you get can just be discarded with Double Dragon Lords effect to bounce a card back to the hand, the Link Summon pays for its second effect. A non-destruction bounce effect each turn as long as you can pay is a good form of disruption. The archetype revolves around Continuous Spell/Trap cards within its own archetype, but things you’ve gotten use of already like Tenki-based Spell/Trap cards can also be sent to the graveyard for Double Dragon Lords. Unlike other Ancient Warrior monsters, Double Dragon Lords doesn’t need archetype-specific Spell/Traps to be sent for their effect(s). Even something like a used Call of The Haunted can be useful.

If it inherited the restriction of needing to be an “Ancient Warrior” Spell/Trap, Double Dragon Lords wouldn’t be good.

Next up we can return to the Ancient Warriors archetype with their only Extra Deck Monster in the series: Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords.

Oath is a Link-2 WIND Beast Warrior with 1100 ATK and arrows pointing Bottom Left and Bottom Right. Low ATK for a Link-2, most Ancient Warriors are already stronger, but you got a good Type to make up for a not as great Attribute and then balance is restored with good arrows. The summoning requirements are any 2 Beast Warriors just as long as you include a WIND Ancient Warriors monster, which the WIND Ancient Warriors are some of the better ones at least, though I wish it wasn’t Attribute specific to what Ancient Warriors was required. At least you can get creative with the other Beast Warrior. Controlling this boosts all Ancient Warriors by 500 ATK and DEF meaning this is at least 1600 on a regular occasion, which is an improvement even if you wish it was just the printed ATK and it boosted itself to 2100. Link Summoning this lets you search any Ancient Warriors card, which is super easy and great to literally have the whole archetype at hand just by summoning this. Finally it has a Quick Effect to send a card from your hand or field to the graveyard to return a card the opponent controls to the hand. Bouncing is fine removal, though targeting is a downside, and this can also set up a graveyard effect for you, which Ancient Warriors have with their Spells and Traps at least. Being able to send anything instead of an Ancient Warriors card does make this good with Tri-Brigade since it’s a Beast Warrior Link, meaning you can summon it with a Tri-Brigade effect and ignore the summoning condition to get this on field for a bounce every turn at exchange for no search since it isn’t a Link Summon. This card here is actually very good for Ancient Warriors to give some more removal and it’s an option for Tri-Brigade users alongside any Beast, Beast Warrior, or Winged-Beast strategy. Overall a nice piece of support, even if it ends up being the last Ancient Warriors support for a while.

Art: 5/5 The aesthetic of the Ancient Warriors is just spot on.

From effect Monster to Link, here we have Ancient Warriors Oath-Double Dragon Lords.  This is a Link 2, Beast-Warrior Monster, with 1100 attack (not awful for Link 2) with arrows that point to the respective bottom diagonals.  Link Summon is performed by any two Beast-Warrior Monsters, one of which must be a Wind attributed Ancient Warriors Monster.  Openly specific, but given the theme and the Wind in the group, it makes sense enough.

First you see all your Theme Monsters gain 500 attack and defense.  All of a sudden alone this card bumps up to 1600.  A little easier for this guy to hold his own.  Two more effects, which can be used once per turn, are also attached.  When Link Summoned, you can add any Theme card from your Deck to your Hand.  Which is just amazing.  Getting a free resource from the Deck just for bringing a Monster out is never a bad thing, and being as open ended as it is makes it all the better.

A Quick Effect, which stays in the traditional bounce theme of the Wind attribute, lets you discard a card from your Hand to the Graveyard to Target a face-up card belonging to your opponent and return it to their Hand.  While this obviously won’t do anything against face downs in the back row, this could be a tremendous way to get a big threat Monster of theirs off the Field simply for a Discard.  Double Dragon Lords may look little, but it’s an amazing card in the Theme.
