Lots of Stuff from
the Adult Swim Message Boards.
Thanks to Jmanunknown for this! "Tonight AS announced they've acquired Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent and the rest of Inuyasha 105-167. It hasn't been formally announced but, during their Q&A session they had on the AS boards they announced the acquisition of the two animes and the last 62 episodes of Inuyasha. Also they said Trigun will be back in March for a Monday- Wednesday run . Next AS has the rights to both Inuyasha movies, Metropolis and Bebop Movie and some others pending. Also Case Closed will return, but there's not any room for it right now, same with Blue Gender and FLCL. "
Family Guy returns to Adult Swim in July with new episodes under a unique arrangement in which Adult Swim and FOX share telecast rights to the revived-from-cancellation series. FOX will air premieres of the Emmy-winning series in prime time; that same week, Adult Swim will telecast new episodes at 11 p.m. (ET, PT) on Sunday evenings. Family Guy, the fast-moving 30-minute animated series about a tense but loving Rhode Island family, has become a sensation since its revival on Adult Swim in April 2003 and has had a series of successful DVD releases. Family Guy is Adult Swim’s top-rated series.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex returns on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 12 a.m. (ET, PT) with its second season following the adventures of female cyborg, Maj. Motoko Kusanagi, and her fellow police officers of Section 9. Along with the ever-ready Tachikomas, the officers must continue their mission to hunt down criminals in both the real and online world. In Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the officers of Section 9 are called in to resolve a murder before it turns into an international incident, hunt down a runaway state-of-the-art killing machine and solve the mystery of a defective android. Starting this Summer, Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent will premiere on Adult Swim's Saturday Action block. A unique blend of samurai action and Hip-Hop style, Samurai Champloo chronicles the journey of a young girl named Fuu as she wrangles two wandering samurai into joining her on her search for a samurai that smells like sunflowers. Mugen is a crass Okinawan swordsman who fights with his own haphazard style, a sharp contrast to the stoic Jin, who is the epitome of aloof samurai poise. The latest project from Shinichiro Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop and Animatrix fame, Samurai Champloo also features the talents of character designer and animation director Kazuto Nakazawa, who directed the animated portion of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill and Mahiro Maeda, a collaborator on Animatrix and Last Exile. Driven by a powerful musical score with contributions from both American and Japanese hip-hop artists, including Tsutchie, fat jon, Nujabes and FORCE OF NATURE, Samurai Champloo redefines anachronism and breathes new life into the action genre. |
