Episode 1: The Blade Raider

Review written by Ryan Hennerbichler

This episode starts off with Tyson and his Grandpa practicing the martial arts. When Tyson remembers a beyblade match, he trys to use an excuse to get away, but grandpa stops him.

His grandpa starts talking about a sword that is sealed in cement right in front of them. This particular sword has been in the family for generations, and it has a picture of the dragoon on it. While grandpa is talking, Tyson notices that the picture is glowing, and all of a sudden it stops.

Then he gets away for his beyblade match with Andrew.

He asks the time on the way, which is a quarter to 4. On the way he gets stopped for a beyblade match with Billy, of which he wins easily. Then he learns it is past 4, and he was supposed to be at a beybattle by 4.

The scene switches to Andrew and co., which when asked if Tyson has chickened out, Andrew says he didn't. Then, a guy shows up who introduces himself as Carlous and tricks Andrew into fighting him in a beybattle on one condition, though we don't learn this condition until later.

Back to Tyson, who finally makes it to the roof of the building in which he is supposed to beybattle.

Everybody has their mouths open as a shocked statement, and Tyson thinks they're shocked at his good looks. But it turns out that Carlous had defeated Andrew, and the condition was whoever loses has to give their beyblade to the winner. Turns out that Carlous had been battling for quite a while, and had a large collection of beyblades. Tyson is so infuriated that he tries to challenge Carlous right there, but a boy from the crowd says his name is Chief and keeps kicking Tyson in the knee/leg whenever Tyson tries to challenge Carlous. But then they have their battle set for tomorrow by the river. If Tyson wins, Carlous gives back all the beyblades he won. If Tyson loses, he forfeit his beyblade.

When Carlous leaves, Chief opens up his laptop who has a voice speaker and flatters Tyson.

It turns out that Carlous has a beyblade that has been outfitted with heavy metal, and Tysons' beyblade needs to be 4 times as fast as usual. Andrews' beyblade hit Carlous's, and then bounced out of the stadium.

At home, Tyson tries to think of how to make his beyblade faster during dinner. When Grandpa interrupts his thoughts with chopsticks in his hand, Tyson immediately thinks of something and finishes eating to leave.

He makes his wind twice as long, but it only makes the blade go twice as fast. He then gives up, but then, in his imagination(Or is it?) the dragoon of his families sword is real and alive and flying under the clouds. When he pops out of his daydream(or was it a daydream?) he gets the proper movitation.

Now we finally get a view of grandpa. He's walking by the entrance to their house, but Tyson is practicing a technique in where he runs at a fast speed and then launches his beyblade( though he is pretending it without the wind). Grandpa is a bit proud of him, then the scene switches to the next day, at the river. Carlous and the crowd at the building roof is there, waiting for Tyson. Then, Tyson arrives.

He prepares for battle, and then retreats a few meters back. When the battle begins, Tyson runs at a fast speed and the beyblade launches off at 4X usual speed.

Then, after a bit of talk, Tysons' beyblade finally knocks out Carlous' beyblade straight out of the arena.

Tyson reminds Carlous of his bet, but then a figure up on top of the hill appears, and jumps down to deem Carlous unworthy.

It turns out that Carlous was one of the Blade Sharks, the toughest bey gang around. And the person who has just appeared introduces himself as Kai, leader of the Blade Sharks.

Tyson then challenges Kai, and is unmoved by Chief and Andrews' lectures.

This battle then ends off with Kai and Tyson starting their battle.
