Hello Pojo Fans,
Armed Dragon LV10 is our throwback Thursday choice for the Armed Dragon week and now isn’t just another useless LV monster.
Needs Armed Dragon LV7 to be tributed to summon it, no other ways you can get it out, bummer until now since LV7 needed LV5. One card (not only a monster now) to wipe all face-up monsters your opponent has off the field is a better effect than the previous Armed Dragon monsters, considering their dependence on ATK. With the new Armed Dragon Thunder monsters you can drop LV10 the first turn without many issues and if you discard Armed Dragon Thunder monsters for Armed Dragon Thunder effects you break even each time, seriously important when it comes to LV monster archetypes. The problem LV10 has is there’s a new LV10 and we’re reviewing it tomorrow and it is better for the sole reason that it can be summoned in other ways.
Not as useless as it used to be because of the retrains, but the new one may still end up being better. However, running one of these won’t hurt because its searchable and easier to summon now.

Before we get to the retrained version, why not look at the original? Isn’t like there were many Armed Dragon cards as good options for Throwback Thursday anyways. Here’s Armed Dragon LV10.
Armed Dragon LV10 is a Level 10 WIND Dragon with 3000 ATK and 2000 DEF, which are good and strong stats. This cannot be Normal Summoned or Set and must be Special Summoned from hand by tributing an Armed Dragon LV7 on field. Before the Thunder line, it was pretty hard to get Armed Dragon LV7 on field, even after the Ojama/VWXYZ support. Now with Thunder LV7, we can realistically summon this. Also don’t forget Armed Dragon Blitz cause it ignores summoning conditions and if the other Thunders were treated as the original, you know LV10 will. The only effect you get for summoning LV10 is to destroy all face-up monsters the opponent controls by just sending a card from hand to the graveyard. Nice it does trigger the new Armed Dragon Thunders and it is a pretty nice field wipe. Thunder LV10 can also destroy cards, but only on the opponent’s turn and one at a time. This at least wipes the opponent’s monsters. It was a really hard card to summon back in the day, but the reimagining of the Armed Dragon archetype made this actually feasible to summon and probably the only Armed Dragon of old worth running in Armed Dragons.

Armed Dragon Level 10 is easier to Summon now with the Thunder line added to the Armed Dragon arsenal. A discard of any type, essentially making its lone effect Lightning Vortex IS good, and better attached to a 3000 attack body. It’s not as good or easy to drop to your Field with Thunder Level 10 for reasons there’s no reason to cover until…tomorrow. If I were using one or even a hybrid, I probably would shed this guy in favor of the new one, but it’s not bad. It just isn’t exactly good enough. Don’t tell Chazz
