Saikyo Cardfighter R Three cheers for mathematical superiority! So new Asura Kaiser can Stand a rear-guard when a Grade 2 or above is checked, not just a Grade 3, but if you DO score a Grade 3, it gains a power bonus for a cost. Well, it’s mathematically superior in ONE respect, but it still has problems, and that problem is Front Triggers. I mean, 8 Crit, 4 Draw 4 Heals exist if that’s the lineup you want, but for those who want Front Triggers for whatever the hell reason, be aware that should you ride this you’re going to get RNG screwed eventually no matter what you do with it. If you attack with Asura first to get the most out of a Front Trigger, and you score a G2 or above, you’ve wasted a Stand and thus screwed yourself out of another attack. If you attack with something first before Asura and yet fail to score a re-stand then your Front Trigger, should you score one, is going to have its usefulness cut by a third. So Asura is of course never going to be the priority ride over Perfect Raizer, who can Stand without needing to rely on chance and can if lucky recoup losses back itself. Or alternatively just don’t run Front Triggers. I mean Criticals scored early get the damage you want in without any additional attacking on your part. 2.75/5 |
What’s up, Rogue Squad?! When I first started playing Vanguard, before Granblue came out in the US, I was a Nova Grappler player, and Asura Kaiser was my main card. Nowadays, Asura Kaiser still does a restand, butnow if you check a Grade 2 or higher instead of just a 3, and if you do end up checking a 3, if you Counterblast 1, then that restanding Unit gets +10k. The average player plays about 10-11 Grade 2’s and 7-8 Grade 3’s, so that means you’d have to check one of 18 cards to pull off the restand, and at best, 8 of those for the power up. For a full deck, that means a 16% chance for everything and 36% for just the restand, but since this happens with about 33-36 cards left in deck, you’re looking at more around the lines of 14 of them for the restand and 6 of them for the power up, which calculates to (best case scenario) ~42% for the restand and ~18% for the power up…the thing with all of this is that you’re getting a cheaper restand skill than Perfect Raizer, but the exchange is that you’re getting it out of chance over a guarantee. Personally, I’d rather pay the heftier cost and get the restand over having to do some math and get it as a chance…math hurts… Standard: 1.75/5 Premium: 1/5 (It doesn’t stand chance in Premium…no pun intended…) Next Time: A female dragon… Go Rogue…Go Pro…and Fight the Meta!!! |
