Saikyo Cardfighter R What a turnaround. Until this got retrained Coral decks were thoroughly mediocre. Now, we have a useful enough +1 every ride or Stride, and good meaty columns to make up for the fact you must run vanilla Ride Chain pieces for this to work. Obviously, the high numbers make her ideal for running Stand Triggers with, or just abusing Spica to generate high-power attacks. She’s also Counterblast free, which is a big plus in its favour, meaning the attack-generating can be made cheap. Only real downside is that her 2 Coral G Units are a bit underwhelming, but the shield eaten is so huge it may not matter that much. A turn-up for the books. 3/5 |
What’s up, Rogue Squad?! So, storytime: one of my teammates here in Vegas is a huge Bermuda Triangle player to the point where he buys a case of the clan set every time they pop up (he’s been debating about buying another one for this set also just for SP’s alone), and he’s been claiming that Coral is the answer to stop one of the most annoying decks in the game, Nubatama. Curious about how it’ll stop it, naturally, I used my Nubatama deck against his newly updated Coral deck…only to get royal stomped and proving his theory, and the main criminal to my murderous loss is this lass here. On paper, getting Coral units into the soul sound kinda challenging to fulfill both of this retrain’s skills, but I think people forget one very important detail about Coral: it’s a Ride Chain, meaning that the Grade 0-2 units are also Coral named meaning that by the time you ride into this, you’ll already have 3 Coral units in the soul and the 4th potentially being shoved in by her on Ride/Coral Stride skill. This means that the frontline will be at least +10k without any other supporting skills to even bigger numbers in best case scenarios. The average player going against those kinds of constant numbers (also including Spica and Kruk spams) normally dies out by the second Stride. Not to mention that this becomes a Crossride by first Stride means that you’re dealing with a 13k Vanguard for the rest of the game…talk about extra thicc… This might upset Saikyo, as I gave the older model a high rating, but let’s face it: Coral is arguably the best Bermuda Triangle deck out now, and I seriously think that we will be seeing this draw happy, powerhouse tank of a deck at regional’s for the remainder of the G Era and deserves this high rating. Rating: 5/5 Artwork: 4/5 (EXTRA THICC…*ahem* sorry, my inner Aku came out when I saw the SP Art…>_>) Next Time: Speaking of the older model… Go Rogue…Go Pro…and Fight the Meta!!! |
