Hello Pojo Fans,

Azamina Ilia Silvia is on the of four Azamina Fusion Monsters in the archetype, and one of the popular choices to go alongside Hallowed Azamina.

Level 6 Fusion Monster that needs a LIGHT Spellcaster and an Illusion Monster for its proper summon, Ilia Silvia will double any battle damage your Azamina monsters do to your opponent. It’s a downside that she doesn’t include herself into that effect, especially with being only 1900ATK. The main use for Ilia Silvia is her ability to tribute herself to negate an effect. Any effect can be negated, and while it doesn’t destroy, this is a great effect against anything coming from the opponent’s hand or in their grave. Hand Traps, Spells, grave monsters, all of them can be negated.

If destroyed, Ilia Silvia pays you back with a Sinful Spoils Trap from the Deck to the hand. If you don’t run any traps you won’t be paid back. Of the traps you could run: Sinful Spoils of Betrayal – Silvera needs to be combined with Diabellstar but is very useful with protection from the graveyard for your Diabellstar or Sinful Spoils card(s), as well as being a generic negation as long as you can send Diabellstar to the grave. Sinful Spoils of Slumber – Morrian is the most generic of the traps, not needing Diabellstar to be activated and being a Book of Moon that can be reset and used again if you have an Illusion Monster on your field while Slumber is in the grave.

The negation was enough for players using Sinful Spoils Spell/Trap Cards to run Hallowed Azamina and a few of the Azamina Fusion Monsters like Ilia Silvia. She can pay you back if destroyed and is generic negation. A simple to use Fusion Monster that you don’t have to properly summon to get the most out of.

The first of three Fusions to look at this week (Main Deck monsters aren’t out yet) is Azamina Ilia Silvia.

Silvia is a Level 6 DARK Illusion with 1900 ATK and 1500 DEF. Not too high stats for a Level 6, but DARK/Illusion overall is nice. Materials are any Illusion monster and any LIGHT Spellcaster, which as we keep getting support for this lore, it’ll become easy to actually do, but you rely on Hallowed Azamina until then. Any battle damage your Azmaina monsters that aren’t Ilia Silvia deal will be doubled, so it should help finish a game out faster if you need to. The remaining effects are each a HOPT, first being a Quick Effect to tribute itself when the opponent activates a card or effect to negate that effect. An omni-negate for anything that can use a Diabellstar and Azamina package is insane considering you only need the initial Spell and any single Sinful Spoils to summon this. Makes it a great end board piece, especially since its the most generic omni-negate we might have in the game now with Baronne banned. Final effect triggers upon destruction via battle or effect, letting you serach for any Sinful Spoils Trap. The Traps aren’t as good as the Spells, but there’s still nice options. There’s a good chance, however, this will never be destroyed unless the opponent just summons a monster and runs this over before making plays, since you’ll most likely use that negate at an opportune time to slow the opponent down. If you’re playing anything with Azamina, you’re likely trying to add this to your end board.

Silvera gets a rather nasty “upgrade” as Azamina Ilia Silvia, the first Azamina Fusion monster we’ll be covering. Mirroring its White Forest counterpart, Silvia is a level 6 DARK Illusion Fusion monster. It takes an Illusion monster and any LIGHT Spellcaster, so if you choose to make it the hard way, White Forest fits it like a glove, though for now it’s much easier to cheat it out with your Azamina cards (that is, The Hallowed Azamina). As it’s level 6, you’ll only need one Sinful Spoils card to summon it with the Azamina “Fusion” cards, so getting to it is pretty easy. Silvia shares Silvera’s rather low 1900 attack and oddly enough takes a huge hit to defense as well for a measly 1500, though honestly the low stats make sense considering how easy it is to summon it.

Silvia comes with a very odd continuous effect, doubling the battle damage of all of your Azamina monsters except itself. Again, Silvia only has 1900 attack, so I don’t think it’d contribute too much anyway, but at least it pairs well with the theme’s boss monsters having decently high stats. Silvia’s claim to fame is its first hard once per turn Quick Effect, letting you tribute it in response to your opponent’s card or effect activation then negate it. It’s a simple omni negate, but a very strong one in Snake-Eye and White Forest, since not only is it accessible very early in combos, it also puts Silvia in the Graveyard so you can recycle The Hallowed Azamina– an summon Silvia again the next turn! Many combos weave summoning Silvia early on to get through Nibiru the Primal Being or at least bait sniping Hand Traps like Dominus Impulse or Infinite Impermanence. Silvia’s final effect, also hard once per turn, simply searches a Sinful Spoils Trap if it’s destroyed by battle or card effect. You won’t really be triggering this on your own and it’s a very slow effect considering you’re searching a Trap that you can’t immediately use, so this is only useful as a minor bonus if your opponent somehow gets rid of Silvia before you can use the negate. If you can summon a Diabellstar, Sinful Spoils of Betrayal – Silvera can be a nice search, but otherwise Sinful Spoils of Slumber – Morrian is better since it has no specific requirements. Of course, the number one reason you’ll play Silvia is its negate effect! The Hallowed Azamina can recycle it indefinitely, so there’s no real reason to play more than one copy, but any Snake-Eye or White Forest hybrid should play at least one.

+Very easy to summon early in Snake-Eye and White Forest combos as Hand Trap insulation
+Pairs excellently with The Hallowed Azamina by recycling each other
-Poor stats and low-impact beater effect
-Trap search is currently too slow to be reliable

Art: 4.25/5 Really puts Silvera into perspective, huh?
