WarlockBlitz Binary Sorceress is a Link 2 Earth Cyberse-type Link Monster with 1600 Atk and arrows pointing left and right. She’s generic, only requiring two non-token monsters to properly Link Summon. Her effects are not generic because she must have co-Linked monsters for either of them to apply. The first just requires 1 co-Linked monster and it lets you gain Life Points if a co-Linked monster inflicts Battle Damage. 2 co-Linked monsters allows Binary Sorceress to halve one monster you control to give that attack to another monster you control. Fortunately, the second effect can be used by any two face-up monsters you control. Unfortunately, pumping effects aren’t that great. She can co-Link to herself and use either effect more than once per turn up to the number of Binary Sorceress. The LP gain effect is ok, but defense doesn’t win games. The second effect has a steep requirement of Link monsters pointing at each other for not much gain. I would say this doesn’t give enough protection, and it doesn’t give enough offense to be useful. She would probably score higher if Cyberse was more dominant a deck. Score: 2/5 Art: 4/5 |
Crunch$G A big part of the Link Monsters in this deck is based around co-linking, which is basically getting a Link Monster to point to another Link Monster and that Link Monster points back at the first one. Here is an illustration: -><-. Yeah, that is co-linking but it doesn’t have to exactly be like that. Today we will look at one of the two Links based on co-linking, Binary Sorceress. Binary Sorceress is an Earth Cyberse Link-2 that requires 2 monsters that are not tokens and has 1600 ATK and arrows pointing Left and Right. The arrows are fine when it comes to co-linking. The ATK is ok for a Link-2, better than Proxy Dragon. The type is once again being pushed hard and the attribute is ok. The effects Binary Sorceress gains is based on how many times it is co-linked. 1+: When a monster co-linked to this card battles and deals damage, you can gain LP equal to the damage dealt. 2: Once per turn (Quick Effect): you can target two monsters you control and half the ATK of one monster to give to another monster you control until the end of the turn. The first effect is obviously going to be the worst because co-linking this once is the easiest to do, but gaining LP is always appreciated. The second effect for co-linking her twice is very nice. This can simply help your monster gain ATK so it can kill another monster your opponent controls that you couldn’t kill before, though it does come at the cost of halving the ATK of another monster you have. This is honestly a nice Link Monster, but one that is overshadowed. When co-linking becomes more popular because of the Extra Link, I can see this getting some play unless we get a lot more better Link Monsters. Advanced Rating: 3/5 |
