Dark Ritual
Card Number: UR162
Card Type: Event
Rarity: Ultra Rare
Expansion: Portal
Deck Limit: 4
Cost: Free
Card Text:
(Remove from the game after use.) Lose half your
power, rounded down. Cancel any card or effect on
the queue. If that card was a character, item, or
battleground, it does not come into play and is
discarded.
Dark Ritual is a necessary evil in the world of
contemporary Bleach. In a resource based game, a
powerful cost-free card is something that no game
designer should take lightly, and no player should
be without.
The ability to cancel activated or triggered effects
or events is something that no other single card can
do. The ability to stop a
character/item/battleground from coming into play is
also unique. And for obvious reasons, doing either
of these things is a highly effective form of
gameplay. But with the penance of losing half of
your power, some thought is essential before using
this card. When is it worth it to use Dark Ritual?
- When your opponent is trying to play a character
or item that will cause him to do an amount of
damage greater than half of your current power.
- When your opponent is trying to play a
character/item/battleground that will stop your
impending victory (Hospital, Ichigo RFT, etc.)
- When you expect your opponent will be forced to
respond with a DR of his own (losing half of your
health is an effect of the card and if cancelled you
do not lose your power)
- When you are low enough health that half is a low
amount
- When you are about to win and your opponent tries
to use something to stay alive (balance of souls,
self sac, etc)
The long and short of it is simple. Dark Ritual is
not a card you can play without knowing why, but it
is absolutely the most powerful card in the game and
you need 4 of them in every deck.

Dark Ritual
There’s not much to say about Dark Ritual…except
everything. You can cancel just about anything
except an attack with this card. Anything. And it
costs no energy. Yes, it does cost half of your
Power – but in exchange for not losing the game, I’d
say that’s pretty fair.
I honestly wish I had more to say about this card,
but it’s amazing effect is too good for words.
Competetive – 5/5 – Cancel anything? Alright.
Casual – 5/5 – See above?
Art – 2/5 – Booooring.
