Tragic Accident is one of those "better as the game
gets on" type cards that are only going to get
harder and harder to find. With Premiere being out
of print and this card getting more and more
playable, getting your hands on one or four now
rather than later is suggested. It's incredibly
clutch in decks that need to see a specific
character as soon as possible to function. Examples
of this are Renji and Uryu.
Competitive: 3.5/5 - Most Archtypes have a way of
getting the characters they need more effectively
than Tragic Accident, and you can almost use it as a
measuring stick for whether or not your deck is Top
Tier.
Casual: 4.5/5 - This is when Tragic Shines, because
most casual/gimmick-based decks rely on a single
character to set their plans forward. With Dual
Energies, Tragic is the glue holding your pile of
cards together ;)
Art: 2/5 - I *love* the Premiere foil pattern, but
Sora is LAME. I would hope for something
more...tragic? |

Tragic Accident
Ah, the first relevant tutor! Even though it came
out set one, it wasn’t really any good back then.
Reason being that anything but rush wasn’t exactly
worth running. As time went on, theme decks became
–gasp- GOOD, and getting a copy of that important
character into your hand became important.
Sometimes, spending your first turn energy on this
isn’t even such a bad idea. Setting up for the rest
of the game by grabbing your most important
character is never a bad thing. However, it’s still
not really near staple status in my opinion, because
there are choices that may make it in before this
card.
Competitive – 3/5 – Great tutor, but not needed in
everything.
Casual – 3/5 – Same idea, but it could be more
useful in this situation.
Art – 3/5 – What does Breast’s brother dying have to
do with this card!?
Friday – Everyone’s favorite card; I promise. |

Tragic Accident is one of the best search cards
in the game, and in my opinion, the best search
event.
Its 2 body energy cost makes it a prime card to use
on your first turn, ensuring you get that needed
character to play on your second. Its secondary cost
of discarding a character may make people want to
shy away from using this card, but even that is an
upside. It can allow you to use cards like Tanding
Your Own, Reunited, and of course Ichigo & Izuru-Double
Teaming to make use of the Discard Pile and create
some pretty cool combos.
The condition of only getting characters that share
a trait is almost non-existant as most characters
share some very common traits(Male, Female, Cute...)
along with the fact that most themed decks revolve
around specific traits (Soul Reaper, Spirit,
Hollow...).
I have used Tragic in alot of my decks, since
now-a-days most decks are focused around 1 or 2
characters which are essential to the flow of the
deck.
All around a great card. That will only get better
as time progresses.
Competitive Play: 4/5 - great card, but not a staple
Casual Play: 4/5 - Helps give a bit of consistency
to those "for fun" decks.
Art: 2.5/5 - fitting image, but lacks flare.
