Saikyo Cardfighter R He was this close. He was this close to being completely awesome. Unfortunately, he had to ruin it all by only working with his own archetype, which HURTS for all resources in general. The Stride skill is basically the fastest way to let your rear-guards poke for numbers without a damage trigger to screw you over, which checks Aqua Force’s main weakness for the most part (and dicks over a Rescue deck). Unfortunate that he’s an Especial Soulblast though. The first skill is basically a clutch draw for Counterblast 1, but it’s a juggling act. Counterblast isn’t Countercharge-able without your new Heal trigger and Platos should you choose to forfeit a little bit of consistency, and should you use anything like Supersonic Sailor you’re just undermining the draw by going +0 wash to lose shield and rack up soul this cannot even get rid of on its own. Fuck if I have anything better to run for the deck though. Maybe Blue Waves will get a little better support but until then don’t rely on Blue Waves to clinch a win that often. 2.5/5 |
What’s up, Rogue Squad?! Sorry for the absence yesterday; life kinda took over too much, but let’s look at another Blue Wave card. Valeos has given a small scare to people when it was revealed that it can freeze the opponent’s vanguard’s power to 11k, making Trigger Checks, Broken Heart, Mick, OG Gavrail’s GB2 and the such pointless. However, once we saw that Valeos is Blue Wave restricted for both cost and who to Stride into, people were getting a little less fearful as Blue Waves don’t have very great support (at least compared to Thavas me even Ripples to an extent). The start of Ride Phase skill is pretty subpar as well as you’re just paying a Counterblast for a unit to get +2k with no real plus as you’re calling a card and drawing a card. If you like Blue Waves, then this is okay, but this Apostle card is just overall overshadowed. Rating: 2/5 Artwork: 4.5/5 (Its artwork is at least pretty nice) Next Time: The one archetype that very little Aqua Force players play anymore.
