Your friendly neighborhood mech just before Stern, it's Blaukluger!
And... well... actually... it's nothing special.
With the potential to be a 10K Vanguard, you stand to take less damage
on your second turn provided this was ridden on
Blaupanzer. That much is solid. But the ability to
unflip a damage when it hits the Vanguard, as the
Vanguard? It's going to be unused in all but the
smallest fraction of your games. Nova Grapplers have few
ways of burning counterblasts in a disirable fashion
that early, and even if Brutal Jack is your thing, he's
only going to interfere with Stern in the long run and
probably shouldn't be on the field that long. Like most
ride chain Grade 2s, Blaukluger is also a 9K vanilla in
the rear-guard. Not useless, but certainly not the best.
At the end of the day, you'd only be playing this out of necessity
rather than desire. 2/5

The first kind of ride chain that Blaukluger came out
with also came with a weird little trait - that is, they
all get some sort of effect when they are the vanguard
and attack. Blaukluger is no exception. When he hits
your opponent's vanguard on the turn he occupies your
vanguard circle, you can unflip a damage. This matches a
mechanic that Nova Grapplers do often, unflipping damage
so that it can be used again, but the thing is,
Blaukluger decks don't really use counterblasts very
often outside of their ability to restand with Stern
Blaukluger. It is especially less likely that you will
have a damage to unflip by the time your grade 2 ride
comes around, so that effect is pretty much meaningless,
unfortunately.
Blaukluger doesn't have it all bad, though. He has 10k
defense if Blaupanzer is in your soul, which is great
because his ride chain is pretty dang consistent so you
will have a pretty good chance of having a strong
defense for the whole game. Speaking of which, he is
tutored right out of the deck by the grade 0 of his ride
chain when you ride the grade 1, so he has plenty of
support surrounding him to make him a decent choice, if
not for what he himself actually does.

Hey guys, today we take a look at one of my favorite
cards (art wise) of the whole game and the 3rd part to
the Nova Grapplers ride chain, Blaukluger.
Blaukluger is one part of the infamous Stern ride chain
and as such, when you have the grade 1 (Blaupanzer) in
the soul, Blaukluger gets +1,000 power added to his base
during both you and your opponent’s turn. Blaukluger
also grants the grade 3, Stern Blaukluger, a +1,000
power bonus as well for being in his soul, which makes
Stern an 11,000 power Vanguard. If that wasn’t already
good, unlike most other ride chains which have to run
max copies of each component to have the best chances of
going off, you can get away with running 1-2 copies of
Blaukluger due to the Stern chain being a 2nd generation
ride chain, which allows its user to search for the
Grade 2 as long as the grade 1 has ridden on top of the
grade 0 (in this case, Blaupanzer). This allows users of
Stern to have some more slots open for units which can
benefit the ride chain, such as Super Electromagnetic
Lifeform, Storm; Deatharmy Lady, etc.
Unfortunately, his only other use within the vanguard
circle is to be an on-hit damage unflipper, which while
still allowing for some counterblast units such as
Kirara or Jack during the early game, isn’t typically
very useful for the deck as whole because almost all
counterblasts are saved for Stern Blaukluger’s skill.
This leaves regular Blaukluger as a 9,000 power vanilla
unit in the rearguard space, which isn’t as bad
considering you only have to run 2 copies minimum, but
still runs into trouble vs. crossrides due to lack of
any 9,000 power boosters in the Grapplers arsenal
(Machinery Angel doesn’t count as much as I would like
it to Q.Q).
Oh well, least he still looks like a awesome *******
Gundam with a beam katana.

What’s going on, everyone? It’s Tuesday and we
have another COTD! Today, we have…
Blaukluger
Power: 9000
Grade: 2
Clan: Nova Grappler
Race: Battleroid
[CONT](VC):If you have a card named "Blaupanzer"
in your soul, this unit gets [Power]+1000.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit's attack hits a vanguard,
choose a card from your damage zone, and turn it face
up.
So we have the Grade 2 part of
the Blau Ride Chain. If you can pull off the first
part of the Ride Chain, then not only are you guaranteed
to get Blaukluger due to Blaujunger’s skill from riding
into Blaupanzer, but you also get a 10,000 power
Vanguard which is normally only obtainable as a Grade 2
via the 10k vanillas (ie King of Sword, Dragon Knight,
Nehalem, etc.) which is extremely solid in itself.
As for its other skill, it flips a damage face up if it
hits the opposing Vanguard. That can be pretty
tricky seeing how most of the time, you would need to
use Magician Girl, Kirara (which means you need to have
at least 2 damage by then) Oasis Girl or Genocide Jack
(Genocide > Brutal) to at least get a damage face down
by then. Personally, I see Blaukluger’s skill as a
small bonus than an essential necessity to hit like
Elite Mutant, Giraffa’s skill for example.
As for after it’s become the
Vanguard and you would already be riding into Grade 3,
after that, Blaukluger becomes a basic 9,000-power
vanilla, which is pretty plain in itself.
Personally, if it kept its skill to unflip damage as a
rear-guard as well, I would personally say splash a few
in your deck, but since you can’t, you only would need
about 2-3 in your Blau deck tops as it would be a dead
card after turn 2.
Overall, like I said with Hi-Power Raizer Custom, it’s
Blau or bust.

Blaukluger
Today, we will
be looking at the grade 2 unit in the Blau series ride
chain. Blaukluger becomes a respectable 10k if you have
the grade 1 Blaupanzer in soul, and if you are
succeeding in the ride chain, you will. Blaukluger’s
second skill is that of a pseudo-damage unflipper;
pseudo in that it is only active in the Vanguard circle.
This skill is limited in its usefulness, since you’ll
most likely be hoarding your counterblast until you ride
Stern Blaukluger and will often have nothing to unflip,
but it can allow you to use units like Brutal Jack, for
a turn or two, at least, while keeping your counterblast
open for later use.
Rating: 2/5 – A
begrudging must in the Blau series, but not for use
anywhere else.
