What's up, you guys?! It's Thursday for what I
finally am calling the "Women of Set 9 Week". For today,
we have...
Battle Maiden, Sayorihime
Power: 7000
Grade 1
Clan: Oracle Think Tank
Race: Noble
[AUTO](RC):When this unit attacks, if you have a
vanguard with "Amaterasu" in its card name, this unit
gets [Power]+3000 until end of that battle.
So it looks like we're going to be looking at another
Loyalty unit much like Burning Horn Dragon or Knight of
Friendship, Kay. Sayorihime here is a Loyalty unit for
Amaterasu, and can be at 10,000 if she's attacking while
Ami is the Vanguard. Even if she isn't attacking, she's
boosting for 7,000 power, and that's still a very solid
number to have and second only to the 8,000 vanilla,
Oracle Guardian, Gemini. For some people before Set 9
came out, they have been using Dark Cat, but only
because they needed a solid 7,000 power unit. However,
Dark Cat also benefited your opponent, so it easily
became a double-edged sword. Now that Sayorihime is out,
I can probably see a few people splash this in to at
least get a solid 7,000 booster especially if they're
using Amaterasu.
In conclusion, normally, I'm biased against Loyalty
members as they can only fit with a certain theme, but
Sayorihime is an exception with the somewhat lacking
amount of good 7,000 power boosters.
Rating: 3/5 (Still got to make it about average
seeing how her skill only works for Amaterasu...)
Art: 4/5 (I'm a sucker for the yin-yang bow...xD)
Next Time: Time to face the music!!!

Battle Maiden, Sayorihime
Sayorihime is
the grade one supporting attacker for Amaterasu decks.
If your vanguard is an Amaterasu unit, Sayorihime
attacks at 10k.
Many clans have
their own version of this card, and you will often find
them occupying a few slots in those decks, and OTT is no
exception. The Amaterasu centric deck is gaining in
popularity, and Sayorihime is a solid option for the
more conservative player. OTT typically has a problem
hitting large numbers in the rear guard, and must rely
on cards like Silent Tom to gain advantage over an
opponent. Silent Tom requires a boost from Oracle
Guardian Gemini to hit a meaningful number, however,
which is a very specific card. Sayorihime is a one card
10k which is enough to cost the opponent cards in one
form or another. Put her behind Silent Tom and you have
a 15k line, and when Tom gets retired, all you have to
do is move Sayorihime forward and continue attacking,
without even committing another card to the field.
Anyone who has
used Kay in Royal Paladin will understand the value of a
10k grade one.
Rating: 4/5 –
She loses a point because there are so few slots open in
an OTT grade one line-up.
