Lord of the Demonic Winds, Vayu
Vayu is an
alternative option to Narukami decks that focuses more
on huge attack power than the retiring effects that are
typical of Narukami. Vayu is akin to Vajra Emperor,
Indra in that its skill relies on multiple copies of
Vayu to be on the field.
In order to
activate the boost, you must counterblast one in the
main phase. Then, Vayu gains 10k for each rear guard
copy of Vayu on your field, potentially maxing out at
40k. This can be intimidating, especially if you trick
out the deck with twelve critical triggers. When a
unit’s power before attacking clears some large number,
it will usually warrant the use of a perfect guard, or a
no guard. The no guard is where the large number of
criticals can come into play.
The big problem,
of course, is getting the multiple Vayus into your hand
and/ or onto the field. Typically, you will most likely
only have one copy to work with, at least at first.
Grade three search cards, like Spark Kid Dragoon are
your friend, as well as 10k boosters like Photon Bomber
Wyvern, which will allow you to hit 30k with only one
copy of Vayu on board.
Rating: 2/5 –
Not a bad card, but inconsistent, and dwarfed by
Vermillion themed Narukami decks.
