What is up, you guys?! It's Friday, and not only are
we wrapping up the week, but if memory serves, this is
the last holo from Set 8 that we haven't looked at
(Paschal doesn't count as all Sentinels get an instant
5/5 in my book. xP), and while I'd say this is the best
for last...well, I can't. Here's why...
Armed Instructor, Bison
Power: 10000
Grade 3
Clan: Great Nature
Race: Warbeast
AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you
have four or more damage): During your end phase, when
one of your «Great Nature» rear-guards is put into the
drop zone, choose up to two cards from your damage zone,
and turn them face up.
[ACT](VC):[Counter Blast (2)] Choose one of your «Great
Nature» rear-guards, and that unit gets [Power]+4000
until end of turn, and at the beginning of the end phase
of that turn, retire that unit.
So it's basically like Scientist Monkey Rue when it
comes to his normal skill; you Counterblast 2 to give
one of your rear-guards the steroid boost (+4000 and
retirement at End Phase). That's not bad as it can help
forcing out that extra amount of shield. However, 2
Counterblast can be a hefty price in a clan like Great
Nature as they like to use their Counterblasts pretty
constantly depending on the build, but that's where
Bison's Limit Break come in. Every time one of your
units goes to the Drop Zone at the End Phase, for each
one, you get to flip 2 Damage face-up which essentially
makes Bison's skill free of charge every turn. With that
in mind, it basically gives you the steroid boost skill
every turn and sometimes even twice depending on how you
play it. The only downside that I see on here aside from
the hefty 2 Counterblast payment is the fact that he,
just like a majority of the Great Nature clan, are
10,000 power, and that's not really a number you want to
be at in this current meta...
In short, Bison is a pretty nice card, but only use
him in a fun deck. At least look at it this way
though...he's better than Apt.
Rating: 2/5
Art: 3/5 (Why are the triangle blades using a yellow
aura??? Makes no sense...)
Next Time: Working on a few more videos for my channel

Armed Instructor, Bison
Bison is the
latest primary grade three vanguard to be released for
Great Nature, at least for now. A 10k body is typical
for a grade three, although Great Nature has yet to see
an 11k outside of Silvest. When attacking, you can
counterblast two and add the GN 4k to another GN unit,
as long as you retire it during the end phase, then, if
you are limit breaking, you can unflip the cards you
used for the counterblast. There are a few problems with
this skill combination, the first being that they
involve a couple steps and a limit break to do what Leo-pald
does naturally, and the second is that you must actually
retire a rear guard to unflip damage. One of the most
useful rear guards to Great Nature is Stamp Sea Otter,
who does not get retired by skills, meaning Leo-pald,
Monoculus Tiger, and Binoculus Tiger can all pump him
without fear of the consequences. In order to unflip
damage using Bison’s limit break, and not neg yourself,
you would have to boost a Hammsuke unit, or something
that Coiling Duckbill had applied its skill to that
turn. But, again, Leo-pald simply performs better; you
can call back the unit you retired, if you retired
anything at all.
Bison really
needed something to set him apart from cards that were
already released. As it is, he is just an inferior
version of Leo-pald with nothing going for him to
motivate a player to use him.
Rating: 1/5 – He
does less than Leo-pald, and what he does do, he does
worse.
