What's up, you guys?! It's another week for Card of
the Day, and we're still going through the new cards of
Set 11. Today, we have...
Eradicator, Sweep Command Dragon
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Narukami
Race: Thunder Dragon
[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you
have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (2) & Soul
Blast (2)] When your opponent's rear-guard is put into
the drop zone due to an effect from one of your cards,
you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card, choose one
of your opponent's rear-guards in the front row, and
retire it, and this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of
turn.
[AUTO]:[Choose one of your rear-guards with "Eradicator"
in its card name, and put it into your soul] When this
unit is placed on your (VC), you may pay the cost. If
you do, choose one of your opponent's rear-guards in the
front row, and retire it.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...this one is a rather interesting card as the
series of cards for the Sweep Command series are easy to
tack up Soul by sending other Eradicators to the Soul to
retire your opponent's field. Normally, once they're in
the Soul, then they're stuck, but that's where Sweep
Command Dragon comes in. Whenever something gets retired
by an effect, you can Soulblast 2 and Counterblast 2 to
draw a card, retire a front-row rear-guard and give
Sweep Command an extra 5,000 power. To top it off,
should you want to, you can do it again and link the
Limit Break to itself giving you 2 cards, 2 retired
units and a 10,000 boost. It sounds excellent on paper,
however, you need to remember that the Sweep Command
deck with ChoOu and RaiOu among others require you to
send other cards into the Soul, so essentially, you're
sacrificing a card to retire a card to make it a 1-for-1
situation, and it only truly benefits once you pull off
Sweep Command's Limit Break, but until then, you're
basically building a time bomb that's due to explode,
and I think that pretty much sums up Sweep Command
Dragon: A ticking bomb that's due to explode.
Rating: 3.5/5 (It's a fun card and the deck itself is
good, but I personally don't see it winning any
tournaments.)
Art: 5/5 (It's definitely a shocking sight to
behold...I'm sorry.
Next Time: Why is it so Blue?!
