What's up, you guys?! It's time to end our first week
of Set 11 cards with one of the most sought after cards
of the set...
Dauntless Drive Dragon
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Kagero
Race: Flame Dragon
[AUTO] Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have
four or more damage):When a «Kagerō» rides this unit,
choose your vanguard, that unit gets [Power]+10000 and
"[AUTO](VC):[Choose three cards from your hand, and
discard them] At the end of the battle that this unit
attacked, if this unit has not become [Stand] during
that turn, you may pay the cost. If you do, [Stand] this
unit." until end of turn.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks, if the number of
rear-guards you have is more than your opponent's, this
unit gets [Power]+2000 until end of that battle.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...Dauntless is definitely a card that is definitely
feared once its Break Ride goes off. Once activated, it
gives the new Vanguard 10,000 power and a very annoying
ability where, if he hasn't Stood up earlier in the
turn, then by discarding 3 cards, you get to re-Stand
your Vanguard poising it for another attack and another
Twin Drive. Now, the most obvious combo for this is with
Dragonic Overlord The End as you would let Dauntless'
skill go off first to re-Stand then let The End's skill
go off once it would hit the second time to Persona
Blast and stand it up again. The anime dubs this as the
"Nevaendo"...and personally, I think that sums it rather
nice as it makes room for a crazy amount of benefits.
With this in mind, there are other options that
Dauntless can combine with, like with Amber Dragon,
Eclipse. Eclipse is a unit where, if you Counterblast 2,
it gains an effect where if Eclipse hits, then you get
to retire 2 of your opponent's rear-guards. With
Dauntless, even if you miss the first time, you get a
second chance with the Break Ride, and if you hit the
first time, then odds are, you'll be able to get the
effect off twice, which wipes out, at worst, all but one
of their rear-guards, but most of the time will just
wipe their field clean should a Double Eclipse hit.
Other excellent choices are Dragon Monk, Goku and
Embodiment of Victory, Aleph as they are able to apply
pressure to begin with, and with Dauntless, they gain
even more pressure with the Break Ride.
Overall, if there was a money card of the set, then
this one along with another certain card are on the top.
Rating: 5/5
Art: 5/5 (Kageros and their awesome artwork!)
