What's up, you guys?! It's Wednesday, and it's that
time of the day for a Card of the Day! Today, we have...
Goddess of Good Luck, Fortuna
Power: 11,000
Grade 3
Clan: Genesis
Race: Noble
[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you
have four or more damage):[Soul Blast (3)] When this
unit's drive check reveals a grade 1 or greater
«Genesis», you may pay the cost. If you do, put the card
revealed with that drive check into your drop zone, and
perform an additional drive check.
[ACT](VC):[Soul Blast (3)] This unit gets [Power]+5000
until end of turn.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...this one is actually kind of hard for me to
properly rate seeing how, in the US format, Genesis is
only about 6 different cards, so you technically can't
make a pure Genesis deck until December when Set 10
comes out. However, after doing some research on this
clan and it's main niches, Soulcharging into
Soulblasting, I see that Fortuna here is actually pretty
nice as it combos with certain cards in the deck namely
the two Witch cards that are also in Set 11.
As for her Limit Break, if you Drive Check a Grade 1
or higher, you can Soulblast 3 cards to discard that
Drive Check and essentially try again. This is pretty
incredible as you can actually do this effect multiple
times should you have the sufficient amount of Soul to
do so. With this, it helps the probabilities of getting
a Trigger and can really help in those dire situations
where your opponent made it so that you needed two
Triggers in a row to pass (2 to pass for short) and your
first check was a trigger. with that extra Drive Check,
it gives you that much needed second chance that most
players wouldn't mind having.
As for her other skill, you can Soulblast 3 to give
Fortuna +5,000 power. It's an alright effect, but kind
of generic seeing how most of the new Lords of Set 11
all have a +5,000 boost of sorts whether it's a
Soulblast or a Especial Counterblast, but personally,
I'd retain the Soul for her Limit Break unless either
A.) You have a giant amount of Soul to squander or B.)
You are in the situation where the extra 5,000 really
matters the most, which is in a late game scenario.
Overall, Fortuna is a pretty nice card...but we can't
use her for about a month, so she stays in the
binders...for now.
Rating:
Pre Set 10: 1/5 (literally unplayable)
Post Set 10: 4/5 (Pretty damn good especially with the
Break Ride)
Art: 5/5 (All Genesis bosses have some REALLY nice art!
Next Time: Welp...all Hellfire has broken loose...YAY!!!
