Companion Star-Star Vader, Photon
-
# BT17/L06EN
Date Reviewed:
Dec. 11, 2014
[AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (RC), if you have a vanguard with "Star-vader" in its card name and your opponent has a locked card, choose one of your opponent's rear-guards, and lock it. (The locked card is turned face down, and cannot do anything. It turns face up at the end of the owner's turn.)
Rating: 3.75
Ratings are based
on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

Companion Star-Star Vader, Photon
I think you could have just left it at just Companion
Star-Vader, you know. But anyway. This guy, upon being
called, locks a RG (any RG), as long as the opponent
already has a locked unit out.
Neat stuff. In the Chaos Breaker build, it's one less
Dust-Tail or Chaos Breaker's discard to Triangle Lock a
field, and it makes nice columns with the 7k boosters. I
should note here that although his skill sounds too good
to waste, I would play this guy the same way you'd play
Colony Maker; if you need the columns to maintain
pressure, slap him down; holding him back just means the
opponent saves guard and undermines Photon's lock.
Don't let his skill hold back your plays, but still,
he's a good accompaniment to whatever you've got.

Companion Star-Vader, Photon
Ah, Kourin's Avatar, how are you?
Wow, that skill...
This is a staple in Link Joker, plain and simple.
If a Link Joker deck can lock freely (Chaos Breaker,
Glendios, Nebula Lord, Legion), they'll be running this
unit. A free lock, a decent attacking body, has a
couple of Legions (we'll see the other one later), and
an interceptor?
Yeah, staple. Run this, plain and simple.
Rating: 4.5/5 (only thing holding it back is the fact
that like all Link Joker support stuff, you need to lock
your opponent's rear guards first.) |
