What's up, you guys?! We're now in the waning days of
"(Un)known Promo Week", and today, we have something
that I'll probably be bias about...
King Seahorse
Power: 6000
Grade 1
Clan: Granblue
Race: Kraken (Fun fact: The only one in the game)
[AUTO](RC): [Choose a card from your hand, and discard
it] When an attack hits during the battle this unit
boosted, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card.
...King
Seahorse has a pretty generic effect that I personally
believe benefits this kind of effect the most. Stop me
if you heard this before: Grade 1, 6,000 power, an
effect to discard a card and draw a card when it boost
an attack that hits...how many clans have this kind of
effect? Answer: Almost every single one of them, but
why exactly would I prefer this one? It's simple, where
do cards go when discarded? The Drop Zone, and which
clan benefits from the Drop Zone? Granblue! King
Seahorse is made to help not just readjust your hand and
give you better cards, but it also benefits in the fact
that what you discard can be potentially resurrected
later on down the game.
The way I see
it, if you're playing Granblue, give this card a shot as
a tech; it might pleasantly surprise you.
Rating: 4/5
Art: 3/5 (It's a giant Seahorse...I got nothing...)
Next Time: More giant gold guys...wonderful...

King Seahorse
4th card of the week is the only KRAKEN-type in Vanguard
is King Seahorse. He's an Aermo clone in that when he
boosts an attack that hits, discard a card and draw a
card.
He's neat, I suppose, but I really don't see anywhere
where he can reasonably go. To run him you pretty much
need to have Blueblood in your deck, which admittedly is
forced if you want to scale the deck for Crossrides, but
even then he STILL wouldn't be here because his ability
falls short compared to other options and he's a weak
booster.
I just don't see any Granblue deck ever having room for
him. He's neat, but there's better.

Moving on to other promo cards you may or may not know
about we have King Seahorse. He’s a grade 1 booster who
if it boosts and the attack hits, discard one card draw
a new one. This guy normally I wouldn’t like in any
other type of deck but where Granblue are concerned,
getting cards into the grave is amazing. Personally this
is one of the sole instance I’d like something like
this. If his attack was a smidge higher I’d consider him
perfect. But as he is a little weaker….he’s useful but
again….far from perfect.
4.0 above average but not too much so. |
