What's up, you guys?! we're on that halfway point of
our "Яeverse Week", and today, we have probably the
oddest Яeverse unit as far as art goes...
Demon Marquis, Amon "Яeverse"
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Dark Irregulars
Race: Demon
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you
have four or more damage):[Choose one of your «Dark
Irregulars» rear-guards, and lock it] This unit gets
[Power]+1000 for each «Dark Irregulars» in your soul
until end of turn. If the number of «Dark Irregulars» in
your soul is six or more, this unit gets [Critical]+1
until end of turn. This ability cannot be used for the
rest of that turn. (The locked card is turned face down,
and cannot do anything. It turns face up at the end of
the owner's turn.)
[CONT](VC): If you have a card named "Demon World
Marquis, Amon" in your soul, this unit gets
[Power]+2000.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...this one, as an actual card, is actually pretty
interesting as it's currently the only Reverse Unit
whose Limit Break doesn't cost any Counterblast at all
and only asks to Lock a single unit. In exchange, Amon Я
regains its previous ability to gain 1,000 Power for
each card in the Soul but will also gain an extra
Critical if you have 6 or more cards in your Soul. This
can potentially make this a game-ending card within only
a few turns as the cost of using this Limit Break is so
cheap that you can do it every turn to apply constant
pressure along with the formidable power boost seeing
how Dark Irregulars are SO fast on putting cards into
the Soul! That and unlike Vowing Saber Dragon, you're
not restrained to Locking only a certain Legion like
Eradicators or Amon units, so you aren't restricted to
using Amon Я in just the Amon's Followers deck though
that in itself is another debate to use it in said
Legion. That and the fact that you can just Soul Charge
in the original Amon makes it so that you'll already be
in the amazing Crossride number the moment you ride into
it. The only downsides I can think of for this card is
that you can only use this effect once per turn
(thankfully) and the fact that using said Limit Break
will more than likely make your opponent over-guard
against this behemoth...which can also qualify as a good
thing depending on the situation.
Overall, I personally see Amon Я as the underlooked
Reverse Unit and definitely deserves some kind of
praise.
Rating: 3.5/5
Art: 2/5 (It goes from a giant demon to a tree.....I
don't know what to say about this...)
Next Time: Does anyone know how to speak German???

Demon Marquis, Amon "Reverse"
3rd card for Space Week, and we have Demon Marquis
Amon "Reverse" (ew, shorter title. Majin means High
Demon in Japanese, so couldn't you have called him a
Grand Demon or something? Just another thing that
doesn't translate into English well. Or Bushiroad just
suck at it).
I digress. What we have is a unit that can lock one
of your rear-guards to gain 1000 power for every card in
your soul. If you have more than 6, you gain a Critical.
Ew, Late Game Critical, not even attempting to justify
it by having bigger columns. You've locked a unit;
unless it's your own Vanguard booster, it's basically
swinging at the Vanguard for almost nothing.
I have tested a deck like this before, and it turned
out really slow and awful. The problem I had was that
because I was using it as a Crossride deck and therefore
had to stack it up against other Crossride decks, all I
got was just a bunch of units playing the 18k game with
little room for actual cards with skills. With so much
Vanilla, the deck was so slow at accumulating soul it
basically made next to no difference; the lock meant it
couldn't close the gap enough in power for the Critical
to actually matter.
That's how I compare other Crossrides; they have to
stack up to the best one (the End) or they can go the
hell home. As it stands, this one's just seriously
disappointing.

Demon Marquis, Amon Я. While every other clan resisted
Void and Link Joker this guy WILLINGLY allowed himself
to be Яeversed to gain power. Apparently he is
republican. That being said, was his choice wise? As a
Яeversed unit he locks his ally and gains a skill: for
every card in the soul he gets +1000 power and if you
have 6 or more cards he gets +1 critical of which, he
can only do once. Amon my friend, Reijy is far scarier.
So this idiot sold himself for power for almost nothing
in my opinion. This is what happens when evil makes a
deal with evil, they get almost nothing.
3/5. Bad republican…bad…. |
