What's up, you guys?! So this is the end of the Promo
Babe Week, and today, we have a curve ball...
Purple Trapezist
Power: 6,000
Grade 1
Clan: Pale Moon
Race: Succubus
[AUTO]:[Choose another of your «Pale Moon» rear-guards,
and put it into your soul] When this unit is placed on
(RC), if you have a «Pale Moon» vanguard, you may pay
the cost. If you do, choose a «Pale Moon» other than a
card named "Purple Trapezist" from your soul, and call
it to (RC).
...I'm pretty sure a good bunch of you are asking
yourself, "But this was in Set 7! Why are you reviewing
this?!", but it's pretty simple actually. Purple
Trapezist was actually a Promo Card for the longest time
in Japan even before Set 7 was released there, and
because we had the unorthodox order of Sets, we managed
to get Set 7 extremely early; almost the same time as
Japan but in a different art. Then, back in May, there
was the Team League National Championships in Anaheim,
and the promo card people received there was, in fact,
Purple Trapezist in its first artwork, so it's fair game
for me to review.
But onto the card: Purple Trapezist has 6,000 power,
which is just okay, but probably one of the best effects
for a Pale Moon deck to have. The moment she is put onto
the rear-guard, you can take another Pale Moon, put it
into the Soul and call any unit from the Soul to the
field. Now, in regular circumstances, people would
normally just call it to the field from the hand and
just use the effect, but if Purple Trapezist were to be
put into the Soul and then called out to the field by an
effect like Midnight Bunny, Mirror Demon or Nightmare
Doll, Alice, then Purple Trapezist can become even more
deadly as you can call it from the Soul via said
effects, then use Trapezist's effect to put any unit on
the field, like a Barking Cerberus that already
attacked, and call any unit from the Soul to the field,
like Alice/Bunny/Mirror Demon or even the Cerberus you
just put back, and since it's technically a new unit
being placed on the field, it qualifies for another
attack with Trapezist being a booster! Confused? Well,
all I can say is watch the Vanguard episode where Asaka
did exactly that against either Misaki or Leon, and
you'll understand.
In short, Purple Trapezist is a necessary staple in
any Pale Moon deck...but if you're trying to find the
promo version, thenn best of luck...
