What's up, Rogue Squad?! For today's Card of the Day,
we're going to take a look at a new take on a old card:
Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel Scissors
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Gold Paladin
Race: Human
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you
have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (2) & Soul
Blast (2)] Unlock all of your locked cards, if the
number of «Gold Paladin» rear-guards you have is five,
until end of turn, this unit gets
[Power]+10000/[Critical]+1, and at the end of that turn,
Soul Charge (1), choose a card from your damage zone,
and turn it face up.
[CONT](VC):During your turn, this unit gets [Power]+1000
for each of your «Gold Paladin» rear-guards.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...I am honestly very indifferent about this card.
It's basically Blond Ezel with an 11,000 body (that's
always welcomed) with the original +1,000 for each
rear-guard on your field, which can make him 16,000 by
himself, which is also really nice. His Limit Break is
also mind of unique as you Counterblast AND Soulblast 2
to unlock all of your rear-guards (that THAT,
Chaos-Breaker!), and if you have a full field, then
+10,000 power and a Critical to boot. I'd normally
complain on how the cost is pretty pricy, but then I saw
you unflip a damage AND Soulcharge 1 at the end of the
turn, so it essentially makes this payment a LOT more
bearable as it pays for half of it while it expects you
to do what you can with the second half. The one thing
that really bugs me about this card is that this SHOULD
be a Crossride to Blond Ezel...but it isn't, so the only
way Blonde Ezel is even viable nowadays is if you use
the Superior Ride combo with Kryph to add more Soul for
Scissors.
Overall, Scissors is a pretty good mid game card, but
not as much in any other scenario.
Rating: 3.5/5
Art: 4/5
Next Time: Welp...it's the remix to Ignition.

Salvation Lion, Grand Ezel
Scissors
You really cannot
comprehend the indignity I felt about this card. Ezel
Scissors has so much that's wrong about it it's unreal.
For Counterblast 2 and Soulblast 2, you unlock all your
rear-guards, and then if you have 5, he gains 10k and a
Critical. Then at the end, you unflip a damage and
Soulcharge 1. He also gets 1000 for every rear-guard.
I find this card appalling,
and not just because Late Game Crit sucks, as I've
always maintained. It's also because it completely
undermines what was Link Joker's point and just made it
a reason not to use it. The capacity to screw Link Joker
for what is effectively CB1 and Soulblast 1 is
disgusting. Worse still, he's almost completely useless
against any other deck, because then he's just a
bog-standard Late Game Crit gainer who can be blocked
with a Perfect Guard like everything else.
This thing is an insult and
I hope more people use top-tier stuff just to prove how
flaccid it is against anything that isn't Link Joker.
