What's up, Rogue Squad?! So for today's Card of the
Day, we're going to be taking a look at the new (and
personally, superior) Nova Grappler Break Ride:
Mont Blaukluger
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Nova Grappler
Race: Battleroid
[AUTO] Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have
four or more damage):When a «Nova Grappler» rides this
unit, choose your vanguard, and until end of turn, that
unit gets [Power]+10000 and "[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast
(1)] When this unit attacks a vanguard, you may pay the
cost. If you do, [Stand] all of your «Nova Grappler»
rear-guards.".
[AUTO](VC):When this unit is boosted by a «Nova
Grappler», this unit gets [Power]+2000 until end of that
battle.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...this is an absolutely freaking awesome card in my
opinion! Mond Blau is the new boss in charge of Nova
Grapplers, and he definitely demands attention as the
inexperienced player will be caught completely off guard
from the fact that it's basically Ethics Buster if done
better with a small cost. The fact that the card makes
it so that you get an extra two fully powered attacks at
the cost of a single Counterblast makes it a bit more
complex to compete against should you not be prepared
for it. One thing I saw somebody at my locals do is to
combine this with yesterday's card, Immortal Asura, and
essentially have a different variant to the Infinite
Hell formation that's normally only done with Ethics
Reverse though if there's one thing we can't debate,
it's that the more attacks that go through during the
turn they Break Ride, the lower your odds are in
surviving!
Rating: 4.5/5
Art: 4/5
Next Time: Asura's crazy risktaker

Mond Blaukluger
Aaaand we move on to Immortal’s best friend: Moon
Blue Wisdom. A Break Ride that for Counterblast 1,
restands all of your rear-guards on attack.
I already explained why this guy’s awesome in
yesterday’s review, so I won’t repeat myself here, so
instead I shall address something that entails using
this guy pretty wrong. Pairing him with the new Galaxy
Blaukluger. I’ll go more in depth on Galaxy on Thursday,
but basically, when your Blau hits a VG in Limit Break,
Galaxy and his booster restands. However, there is a
catch. Assuming you’re meant to pair him with Mond, your
rear-guards have to go first. But due to a nasty ruling
on Galaxy, the moment a Blau hits the Vanguard, you MUST
pay Galaxy’s cost at that moment or else you cannot use
the skill at all even if the conditions are filled again
later that turn. And that’s a bust if Galaxy HASN’T
ATTACKED YET.
Now you may think, so what? I’ll swing at the
Rear-Guards then. Are you sure? You sacrificed your
plays during Mid Game to accomplish what is a rather
setup reliant +1 (-1 from riding again, then +2 to
killing two Rear Guards). That’s basically a more
Counterblast effective, but less card advantage giving
Vermillion. And Vermillion isn’t exactly kicking around
anymore. That and by the time you pull this off, both
players should on average be on 4 damage, so the
opponent has to guard everything anyway lest a Crit doom
them to insta-loss.
Mond shouldn’t be paired with who you think. However,
what tiny niche he fills, he fills very well.
