What's up, you guys?! We're at the sorta-kinda-halfway
point of "Spring Break/Exam Week", and today, we have
probably one of the better Break Rides that's currently
out:
Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Shadow Paladin
Race: Elf
[AUTO] Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have
four or more damage):[Counter Blast (1)] When a «Shadow
Paladin» rides this unit, you may pay the cost. If you
do, choose your vanguard, and until end of turn, that
unit gets [Power]+10000 and search your deck for up to
one grade 2 or less «Shadow Paladin», call it to (RC),
shuffle your deck, and that unit gets [Power]+5000 until
end of turn.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit
gets [Power]+2000 until end of that battle.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...One of the new boys in town...well, not as new as
Eva or Dantalion, but still new nonetheless. Mordred has
all of the necessary tools for a Break Ride: 11,000
Power, a way to be at 13,000 Power (by just attacking
the Vanguard...that's it.), and a really good Break Ride
effect. When you Break Ride, you can Counterblast 1 to
give your Vanguard 10,000 Power, and you'll also be
able to call a Grade 2 or lower Shadow Paladin from your
deck to the field and give that new unit an extra 5,000
Power. Need a booster? Get a Dorint, T. Masquerade or
Charon. Need a attacker? Get a Rugos, Tartu, N.
Masquerade or Blaster Dark. Want to get rid of a
rear-guard while you're at it? Then get everybody's
favorite fanboy card in Blaster Dark Revenger to nuke
it! The only drawback that this card has is that you
have to pay a Counterblastto use the Break Ride, but
given what you can get out of it, I see it as a fair
payment.
Overall, Mordred is one of those cards where, in the
right hands and deck, can definitely turn the tide of a
game back your way with what you can pull off with this
card!
Overall: 4.5/5
Art: 4/5
Next Time: Silver Thorn Midnight Bunny...that's all I
can think of for this!

Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom
Next up this week is the Break Ride for Revengers and
indeed for Shadow Paladins, Mordred Phantom. A Break
Ride, that for CB1, not only gets you 10k, but also
summons a Grade 2 from the deck, and then gives it 5k
power.
Really not that overwhelming by himself. Because all
you accomplished for CB1 was a +0 wash. In a deck that's
supposed to be all about abusing Dorint to minimize
costs. So even if you use this to call a Blaster Dark in
front of Dorint, the CB involved would still add up to a
normal Blaster Dark column, which we want to avoid.
He's not the best Break Ride out there, but the
option of a search is nice, I suppose. In certain
situations you could get an emergency Blaster Dark if
you've lost Claudius, need something dead, but can't
afford to devote on attack to killing it, Tartu if your
field's rather bare, Dorint if you don't have one, or
Darkbond if you need boosters. Most of the time though,
I don't see any need to totally rely on him other than
to give Raging Form teeth for the finishing blow.
What I'm trying to say is, don't spam this guy. All
he'll do is eat resources for no new card advantage. And
resources wins you things in Revengers.
