What's up, you guys?! So after doing a double take on
the list of cards this week, I realized that we're
reviewing female cards...again...but from Set 12! With
that in mind, let's take a look at one of my personal
favorite ladies of the set:
Miracle Pop, Eva
Power: 11000
Grade 3
Clan: Pale Moon
Race: Elf
[AUTO] Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have
four or more damage):When a «Pale Moon» rides this unit,
choose your vanguard, and until end of turn, that unit
gets [Power]+10000 and "[AUTO](VC):[Choose two of your
«Pale Moon» rear-guards, and put them into your soul]
When this unit attacks, you may pay the cost. If you do,
choose up to two «Pale Moon» from your soul, and call
them to separate (RC).".
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks a vanguard, Soul
Charge (1), and this unit gets [Power]+1000 until end of
that battle.
[CONT](VC/RC): Lord (If you have a unit without a same
clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)
...if I had a Top 5 for Break Rides, Eva would
definitely be on that list! She has 11,000 Power, and
when she attacks, you get to Soul Charge a card to give
it a 1,000 extra boost. It's not as good of a boost as
say Spinodriver, Infinite-Zero or Dauntless, but the
fact that you get to add more to the Soul, which Pale
Moon kind of has to do to succeed, it's definitely a
nice compensation though the Break Ride is where Eva
truly shines. The generic 10,000 extra power will always
be there, but the new Vanguard also gains the effect to
where when it attacks, you can swap 2 rear-guards into
the Soul to call any 2 Pale Moon units from the Soul to
the rear-guard. Now, in context, most people see this as
a way to get an extra attack with a fresh booster, but
if you add in certain other cards, like say...Purple
Trapezist, then not only do you get the aforementioned
field, but then Trapezist's effect gets to go off, and
you can take another Pale Moon unit and perform another
Soul Swap. The best way of combining this by Soul
Swapping the other front rear-guard with either the same
one or a stronger one in the Soul to make a nice,
potential 5th attack, which makes this Break Ride one of
only 2 other cards that can make 5 attacks minusing
Stand Triggers (the others being Ethics Buster and
Dudley Emperor).
Overall, if you end up knocking Eva at first glance,
then you might want to take a second glance because this
Break Ride can potentially put the psycho circus back
into the tournament scene.
Rating: 4/5
Art: 3.5/5 (Blue face bugs me...)
Next Time: Going from a good Pale Moon card to a bad
one...

Miracle Pop, Eva
Okay, now here's something
I can get my teeth into a little more. Miracle Pop, Eva.
She's a Break Ride. 10k bestowed in Late Game for riding
a new unit, standard, and when the new Vanguard attacks,
two Pale Moon Rear Guards swap for two in the soul.
So obviously, this thing
would have to send an entire column that's attacked into
the soul to refresh it and attack again. The opponent
drops 10k shield. That's your +0 wash right there. I say
whole column because I know most of you would want to
stand two front-row, but generally that means little
unless they can actually hit a Vanguard (and in the
approaching Crossbreak Ride format, nothing will be able
to). Even then, they'd both be easy to block. So it has
to be an entire column. I guess if one of the new units
that comes out is Purple Trapezist, the other front row
gets a shot too, but that's a little...eh, situational.
Her second ability is a
little iffy given that its random soulcharging. It's not
like Genesis or Dark Irregulars, where they don't care
too much what goes in there, but Pale Moon do need
certain key units to be there, and right now, they're
relying awfully on chance to get things there. So until
you Break Ride, you get a random chance to get a good
card in there every turn. Not my style, frankly.
On that note, I had fun
abusing this with Peek-a-Boo. Call it from the soul,
attack with it, swap with Eva. Sudden +1, not great, but
it's there.
All in all, I'm not
entirely fussed on it. It's trying to capture Nova
Grappler's gimmick, but I'd rather take the one that's
slightly more reliable. And spammable. She doesn't suck,
but I can name better.
2.5/5
