Edict Star-Vader, Halcion
Finally, we can move on to the Limit Break units of
Fighter's Collection 2014 that DON'T suck. At least in
theory anyway. Starting us off is yet more Reverse
support in the form of Halcion. As a Limit Break unit,
it gives all Reverse rear-guards Boost, Intercept, AND
5k shield for guarding or intercepting. And of course,
like all Reverse support aces, it turns all Reverse
units into Link Joker.
So all in all, you go through the effort of having to
run World Line Dragon for the sake of consistency, you
end up having to take some liberties with Grade ratio in
some cases, and what's the end result? You have an 11k
booster to make columns of like 23k MAX with something
like Radon, and a little more shield. Problem is it
doesn't DO anything that another deck could not do
better or with less liberties. Master of Fifth Element
(my default card for easily set up columns) could do
this with less liberties and at least allows for higher
numbers with the support it's got.
This isn't worth the Mid-Game locking Glendios offers.
Another bust by Bushiroad.

Only 4 cards this week, folks. And, thankfully,
they're 4 really good ones.
As we continue our coverage of Fighter's Collection
2014, we come across Morikawa's avatar, Halcion.
Remember how, in Season 1, Morikawa played six grade 3s
onto the table and was boasting about how great he'd do
in that turn?
Well, Halcion allows you to drop six grade 3s into play
and use them all to the fullest extent. It's got
the same Ascendant Joker skill that Reverse Cradle and
Omega Glendios has, so this deck does use Magnet Hollow,
Worldline Dragon and Ruin Magician to get some tricks
off. Plus, no "Lord" ability like Reverse Cradle.
Like I said there, there's no point to the Lord skill
with Reverse Cradle.
But Halcion's Limit Break, on the other hand, is
something I've never seen before. Allowing any
Reverse (or Re-Birth) unit to boost, intercept, guard
from the hand and get an extra 5000 shield out of it.
Effectively, no matter what you drive check, you'll
still have shields to defend with. And, well, 11K
boosters are never bad. While not as competitive
as Glendios, which is an absurdly consistent deck, this
is probably the only Link Joker deck that no one would
mind going up against. No locking here, thank
goodness.
While there's more competitive Link Joker decks, this
one's a lot of fun to play. Give it a try if you
can.
