Second card of the week is an expansion on the Regalia
series and pretty much the only ace in that Extra
Booster I can get behind, CEO Yggdrasil (I'm shortening
it to CEO Y from now on, it's a bitch to type and I can
never remember how to spell it). She legions with Norn,
a unit who grants 5k when soulblasted.
And what's the reward? Well, when she attacks when in
Legion, you Soulblast 6 cards, and then she gains +1
Critical, and the opponent can't drop Grade 1s to guard,
thus sealing Perfect Guards and Quintet Walls.
Sounds neat. First thing you notice is that she's
basically a finisher. All that effort to get that much
soul and whatever power bonuses you grant her from Norn,
Pray Angel and what have you with the opponent on 4
damage, and they're staring down something nigh
unblockable unless they spammed draw like mad. 6 soul's
easy enough to obtain thanks to Pray Angel and whatever
you've ridden for the turn. One downside is that her
ability isn't easy to repeat without basically
dedicating most of the deck to soul-charging, so room's
tight for actually interesting cards, but the end result
is boss so it's worth it.
CEO Y's a neat ace, just mind that the lineup Grade 1
and 2-wise is a bit tight. Also, try not to use her
skill to just even the damage, it's not worth it unless
you got sacked SO hard.

Not this card, not this card, ARRRRGH!
This is also a Type 2 Legion like Fianna was yesterday,
I won't go into the mate here, because Norn has a pretty
good skill and should be covered in her own review.
According to the lore, Yggdrasil was created by the Neo
Nectar clan and then apparently came to life and
appointed her CEO position by Amaterasu. Huh, go
figure.
Let's look at the non-Legion skill first. When
Yggy (as I'm calling her for short) attacks, if she has
a booster or if she's in Legion, her attack gets an
extra 3000 power. So, just for the Legion itself,
it's a 23000 attack. Ick.
The Legion skill, this is what causes me anguish with
her.
Most of the Legion cards are pretty balanced and fair
with their effects, even if the attack strength is high,
the effects are pretty mellow compared to a Break
Ride+Limit Break combo platter skills.
This card... Is one of the exceptions. No
question about it, Yggy here is a game breaker.
Soul Blast 6, +1 critical and gain the Glory Maelstrom
skill. It wouldn't be so bad if Genesis didn't
have cards that had skills that activated when they're
Soul Blasted.
Yes, this is one of the few Vanguards that gain crits
that don't suck. Needless to say, if you are
playing against Genesis, do NOT waste triggers guarding
rear guards.
I hate this card so much, Soul Blast 6 for Genesis is
the same as Kagero Counter Blasting 2.
One of the few legions that utterly curb stomps
everything, both in the clan and not in the clan, that
came before it with ease.
I won't give this a Legion rating until we cover Norn.
Rating: 5/5
Yes, this card deserves a perfect rating. Anyone
who's played with/against it knows exactly why. |

I do not know even where to begin with this card simply
because I love it and hate it. I love playing this card
because of its ability when it is in legion and
attacking makes my opponent unable to use grade 1's and
above and to gain a critical for that battle but I hate
playing against it because I can not use grade 1's and
above and have to figure out how to guard against it and
at the same time worry about that extra critical. In
order to do her effect you must be in legion and when
you attack you must soul blast 6 cards; well for Genesis
getting 6 cards into the soul is very easy to do and
even easier now with all of the new support from the
extra booster. And her skill requires no counter blasts
and marries very will with cards like Midday Regalia,
Hemera which for simply placing her on the rear guard
can put 3 cards with Regalia in their name from your
drop zone into your soul. So using Quintet Walls in
this deck and making sure a majority of your units are
Regalia can set up a endless amount of 6 in soul needed
for her legion effect. Her third effect is pretty
standard right now for most legions, it adds a bit of
power early on, especially if your opponent has not
ridden to grade 3 yet or by the off chance they are
grade locked, when this unit attacks it gets plus 3k if
you have another unit in the center column. So if you
are in legion it will automatically get the 3k and if
you are not but you have a booster behind it she will
get the 3k as well. So with a 7k booster it can create a
21k line which is the ideal number to strive for against
an 11k vanguard. I feel this is a bit of easy deck to
pilot due to the vast amount of combos her and the rest
of deck can provide. I do not think it is auto pilot by
any means but sure is a lot of fun those those who like
combo's and making your opponent sweat when they are at
4 damage. |
