Judgebau Revenger   We covered this card in the Black-Winged Swordbreaker review but here it is, in the flesh. Card. Card-flesh. Upon boosting a Phantom Vanguard's attack which lands on the opponent's Vanguard, Counterblast 1 and put him in the soul to call 2 Grade 1 or below Shadow Paladins to RG circles at rest.   That's really neat. This starter is a rare occasion where it's a straight +1 for its cost as opposed to +0 washes or even -1s. The capacity to search for useful boosters such as Dorint to open up Blaster Dark Revenger plays next turn or Swordbreakers to net more plusses, or even Dark Bond Trumpeter to generate sack fodder for your main aces is neat. Only downside is that most of the Phantom Shadow Paladins are pretty unremarkable, but even in the old build you could pretty much replace this for Claudus and get away with only 4 Mordred Phantoms in case Dragruler really doesn't float your boat. I know it doesn't float mine.   Udgey is a pretty cool starter and being for a decently supported archetype helps too.   3/5

Judgebau Revenger   Okay, it needs to be said, the English version is a misprint.  While it has to boost a "Phantom" unit, like Mordred Phantom, Dragruler, Phantom Blaster Dragon and Overlord and any future Shadow Paladin Phantom units, it doesn't need to hit the Vanguard.  You could actually use the attack on a rear guard and get the effect off.   So, what does it do?  You counterblast 1, put it into the soul and get 2 Grade 1 units at rest from the deck.  Best target is obviously Black Wing Swordbreaker as you'd draw 2 more cards off of it.   Now, is this better than Claudas?  Well, I think it is.  Claudas could only get Blaster Dark Revenger, this can get any Grade 1 shadow Paladins and two of them in fact.   So, if you're running Shadow Paladins, this is a very solid addition to the deck.   Rating: 3.5/5
