Liberator, Holy Shine Dragon
This is the piece of the Infinite Break Ride engine that
seems to have gotten up everyone's grill. This card's
Limit Break is to turn a Grade 3 Gold Paladin in your
soul into the Vanguard, then bounce Holy Shine back to
the hand. Normal skill is a top-deck for CB1 when
ridden. Standard Gold fare.
Now obviously, this is paired with Solitary Liberator
Gancelot in order to give 10k to the VG and 5k to 3 RGs
every turn. So essentially assuming a good field, that's
one column getting 10k stronger and one getting 5k
stronger (because powering up the VG's booster is a
waste since the Break Ride puts it at Perfect Guard or
bust territory anyway). I suppose assuming a bad field,
you can actually resolve Holy Shine's top-deck BEFORE
the Break Ride since both activate at the same time and
you decide the order, but as I've said several times,
don't assume you're losing at all ever.
The combo's nice, but I can't get as excited as the
others seem to be. It's got punch, certainly, but it's a
bit delayed for my liking. I'd rather have something
that can go live and eat guard as soon as possible, like
Stern Blaukluger, since the opponent will have all game
until then to stock guard.
Holy Shine's not entirely horrible IF the combo works
though.

Liberator, Holy Shine Dragon
When at Limit Break, you can grab whatever grade 3 is in
the Soul and put it in play as the Vanguard and then
return this card to the hand from your soul. The
other ability is to Especial Counterblast 1 to grab any
Liberator off the top of the deck and put it on an open
field zone.
This card should have come out somewhere between sets 12
and 14, not this set. Completely over-shadowed by
Monarch Alfred. Anyway, see my review for Alk to
see the problems I have with this card. It's not
bad, especially if you DO have Liberator Gancelot in the
soul, you get to spam Break Rides for days and there's
nothing your opponent can do about it.
I suppose if you're running Liberators and can't get
Gancelot Zenith or Monarch Alfred, this is a very nice
choice for the deck.
In the end, it's a pretty decent card, but it's
over-shadowed by Monarch Alfred, Gancelot Zenith and the
upcoming Bluish Flame Liberators.
At least it's better than Desperate Dragon, right guys?
If we could side-deck in Vanguard, this would be a very
solid side-deck card for going up against what's coming
on Friday.
