Revenger, Dragruler Phantom

Wow, that's...a dramatic makeover for you, Mordred old pal. So what's changed after fusing with a dragon's soul? Well, in the Main Phase, you CB1 and sacrifice 2 Revengers to give him 10k. And if the opponent has 4 or less damage, they eat 1 damage as though they were damage checking it (so triggers would still activate here).

Is he good? Well, as an ACT sacrifice-er, you do need a good set of replacements for whatever's going to die. Failing that, he's a way to clean the board for a better column or 2 later on. But as for the benefit of the extra damage...well, it's good as a catch-up tool since the ways to respond in Vanguard are really small at the moment. Or as a way to force the opponent to guard absolutely everything for a big push. However, I don't really think I could justifiably sacrifice 2 just for a play that won't kill the opponent on the spot. At best, it evens out the card to damage ratio, and for a Counterblast cost I was hoping it would have some other way of gaining a +1.

Dragruler however does have his niches, small as they are. Just don't go out of your way to try and set his skill up because those resources could be going towards more meaningful plays.

What I'm trying to say is KEEP YOUR GREASY MITTS OF MANA SERIOUSLY SHE SUCKS

Revenger, Dragruler Phantom

As the Link Joker's newest weapon bared down on the forces of Cray, demolishing all in its path, Mordred Phantom realized that the only way to stand against the newest threat was to face the sins of his past and transform into his true self.  Rallying his forces, Dragruler Phantom charged into battle, hoping to stop the onslaught of the Reverse.

Sorry, been wanting to do that for some time now.

Anyway, this is the Cross Ride of Mordred Phantom, so, for the turn you Break Ride with this, Dragruler gets +12000 power for the turn.  On top of that, the ability to Superior Call any rear guard and it gains +5000 from the Break Ride.

But what about his Limit Break, what good is it?

Well, for a CB of 1 and retire two of your Revenger Rear Guards, this card gives itself an extra Break Ride power boost, on top of that, if your opponent's Vanguard has four or less damage, deal one damage to your opponent's Vanguard.

Of course, the downside to this card is that if they get a trigger off of that, they still get the effects.  However, you can do this more than once a turn if you can spare the units and your opponent is at 4 or less damage.

This ability is very reminiscent of Phantom Blaster Dragon's ability of +10000/+1 Critical, instead of your Vanguard doing two damage in one shot, you deal one damage before you attack and then attack to try and finish them off.  And, considering that Mordred Phantom is Phantom Blaster Dragon's good half (Majesty Lord Blaster sliced his soul in two), this ability makes a lot of sense.

It's no secret that this is one of the five most hyped cards in the set, and for good reason.  This card really allows Revengers to hang with the really strong stuff from set 15 on out.
