Prevail Jewel Knight, Yvain
And this Jewel Knight's new trick. If you don't fancy
the long wait for Salome, here's your option instead.
Yvain legions with Swordmy, and for your trouble, he
gets 5k and a critical if you've gathered 4 other Jewel
Knights on the board. Normal skill is to gain 2k upon
attacking the Vanguard.
So what we have is basically a simpler Alfred Exiv, with
Jewel Knights mostly gunning to fill a board more than
Seekers. One thing going for this guy compared to Alfred
Exiv is that one slot could potentially be empty and
you'd still get the Critical. But I'm still not feeling
it; Alfred's more proactive and it's got good support at
field filling and Blaster Blade Seeker for killing, so
I'd still rather have Seekers.
This isn't a bad choice if you can't afford Seekers
however, as a cheaper but similarly effective option.
Just note your fail con is basically Salome as opposed
to Thing Saver, which ain't as great.

And so, we're looking at Swordmy's partner, Yvain.
...Who kind of looks like Daigo. I know Daigo's a
famous actor in the show, but now he's a card too?
...What is that on his back? A jetpack? Or
is he a human-sized Gundam from Gundam Seed?
If curious, Yvain here is named after Ywain of Arthurian
Legends.
Anyway, this is the Jewel Knight Legion. It's a
continuous Legion that attacks for +2000 when not in
Legion and has the chance to get an extra +5000 and +1
critical when in Legion.
So, in effect, Yvain is Seeker Egbert, Seeker Alfred and
Ezzell+Alfred, just for Jewel Knights.
All things considered equal, by itself, Yvain is a bit
better than Egbert is, and that's only because he
doesn't need to counter-blast to gain the power and crit,
and is only really here to give Jewel Knights a boss
that isn't Salome or Ashlei R. Even though it can
swing for higher numbers, with a full field and a 10K
booster in play, than either Alfred can, the mere fact
that Yvain can't search the deck.
I have to say it, but it's really not good. Sure,
it can hit for bigger numbers than either Alfred, but
that lack of searching really hurts it.
That's all I can say about it.
