Mythic Beast, Fenrir
Final card of the week is Genesis's Stride vessel,
Fenrir. As a GB2 ability, on attacking the Vanguard,
Soulblast 3 to gain +1 Critical and the skill to seal G1
and above Guard from the hand. Stride skill is to
Soulcharge 3, and then gain a skill that lets you call a
Soulblasted unit from the drp zone to RG circle once per
turn, for CB1.
The GB2 skill...well it's nice, but without extra power
not entirely useful since the opponent can happily drop
0s on you most of the time, unless you can combine it
with Hati to make the whole column 21k+ total or
something. So you want him for the Stride skill.
Soulcharging 3 free of charge, it takes away the need
for other Soulchargers outside of Gleipnir and allows
for other more interesting cards, which is certainly
useful. Calling a Soulblasted unit also means he works
well with Witches Melissa and Chamomile for quick and
easy field filling since only Gleipnir touches
Counterblast in the deck otherwise.
But then the Critical to support Fenrir appears and he
becomes the god king of space, fucker. Waiting on that
to make him a badass. Apart from that just use him as
your way to make Doom Brace and Vanargandr a consistent
thing.

Mythic Beast, Fenrir
The Genesis Break Stride. We met his
evolved/transformed version last week, and that one
killed/sealed away Gablade, so what does the original
Fenrir do?
Well, before that, the lore and... Oh goodness!
It's not just the Shadow Paladins in a war, this guy
wanted a civil war and joined up with Claret Sword
Dragon to start a civil war within the entire United
Sanctuary.
...Suddenly I'm even more annoyed at Blaster Dark for
disappearing and leaving the future to the next
generation of heroes.
Anyway, Fenrir here at GB2...
... Seriously, Bushiroad? You had to make
another $*&#ing Glory clone?! For a Soul Blast
THREE?! SHEESH! Wasn't $&%@ing Ygg#$%&dra&$#$&sil
enough?! Now you put it on a #$@da*#ed%$*&ing
Break Stride as well?!
And the on-stride ability, when you stride, Soul Charge
3, choose your Vanguard, if any unit from the soul is
put into the Drop Zone, CB1 to call it to R.
So, now Genesis is a pale copy of Pale Moon?
Sheesh, Bushi, what the $&*@ing #3&& are you #$%*ing
thinking with this?!
Screw it, you can't get Yggy or Minerva, get this, it's
a lot cheaper.

Hey guys, real life is keeping me
pretty busy these days, sorry for not reviewing. Today's
card is Genesis's Strider, Fenrir. As a GB2 it has
Soulblast 3 to gain a Crit and a Glory skill. It's
on-Stride was a free Soulcharge 3 and a red skill which
CB1 calls a soulblasted unit when cards are soulblasted.
I remember when this card was first
released and people were terrified of deckout... good
thing we got that Stand Trigger. Anyway, Fenrir's
on-Stride is quite good value because it (selectively)
fills the field in a clan that does more than just field
filling (meaning it won't get redundant), and the
Soulcharge helps make high cost Strides like Vanargandr
affordable with very little support from RGs. The GB2 is
decent enough , but you would want to be Striding anyway
so it won't see much use. Still nice to have I guess.
So how does this compare to older
stuff like Minerva and Yggy (gonna ignore Witches for
now because they're pretty specific to their sub-clan)?
It's surprisingly "faster" than both of them in that it
starts gaining momentum easily from first Stride, which
is usually gonna be Doombrace. I would probably run
either or Minerva or Yggy as backup (I have a preference
to Minerva because it punishes G2 stall). I see people
running cards like Persephone or Yatagarasu, but I don't
feel these cards add a new role to the deck so that you
would ever want to ride over Fenrir.
Overall, pretty good.
Rating: 4/5
Art: 5/5 Not gonna lie, that's some
pretty sick art
Card Design: 4/5 It's kind of
stolen from PM, but I suppose it's advantage unique to
Genesis in Bushi's eyes.
