Schahrot Vampir
B...but...it was G-BT04 Sneak Peek last weekend...
...you suck, Nanya.
But never mind. It's Dark Irregular Week, and we're
covering the Stride vessel for them, Schahrot Vampir. As
a Generation Break 2, when you have at least 6 cards in
the soul, he gains 10k. And if you have 10 or more, he
gains +1 Critical as well. We ignore this largely
because it's late in the game and by that time it's PG
territory. Let's take a vote: Should I stamp GB2 Crit
gainers with my LGCSSG seal of dissaproval? Mail me!
What you want him for is his Stride skill. CB1 to
Soulcharge 2, and when the Vanguard attacks, the
opponent picks one of their rear-guards and retires it.
Fair enough, for CB1 it sets up later skills and nets a
low quality +1 so that's reasonable enough.
Decent enough but he mostly only exists to set up
finishers you actually give a shit about like Gilles de
Rais. He's your surest one though so use him for that if
nothing else.

Scharhrot Vampir
So, it's Dark Irregulars week and the last week before
the new set hits, so let's get this covered.
Actually, I'm a bit surprised we didn't cover these ones
already.
To start the week off, we have the Break Stride of the
Dark Irregulars, when you stride, you can CB1 to SC2 and
if you have six or more in the soul, which is easy to do
for DIs, you force your opponent to retire a rear guard
on attack. It should be noted that it's six in the
soul when you attack, not when you Stride.
Sadly, they get to pick, you don't, so they can get rid
of something like a Luck Bird clone or something that
has no more use for them.
The GB2 skill gives it +10000 if you have six in the
soul and +1 crit if you have 10+ in the soul.
*Insert Vanguards that gain crits suck here*
It's not bad, but it's really more of the same for Dark
Irregulars, the Break Stride ability is pretty nice, but
the power and crit bonus, you could just run Amon R or
Amon legion to hit the same numbers and critical values
easier than GB2.
Sadly, the mere fact that the House of Amon exists makes
this pretty much dead weight for most Dark Irregular
decks.
Sure, if you don't have Amon Legion or Amon R, by all
means, use this, it's not horrible, it's just...
Outclassed.

Scharhrot Vampir
This week's first card is my
favorite clan, Dark Irregulars's, Strider unit.
Scharhrot Vampir's GB2 is to gain 10k if you have 6
cards in soul (super easy) and a crit if you have 10
cards in soul (also super easy). The On-Stride skill,
which is what you would primarily use him for, is CB1 to
SC2 and gain a skill to retire an opponent's RG of their
choice on-attack.
So the GB2 is honestly not great,
because by that point in the game the opponent would
probably have a PG to guard the VG attack anyway, so
gaining power / crit will be redundant in most cases.
The On-stride is solid enough, and actually gives DI
some hard plusses which they have lacked since forever.
One comment I'll make about the G-Dark Irregulars as a
whole is that they cut it close when it comes to making
15 soul by the second Stride (for Gilles to Rais of
course), because most of their soulchargers are
Generation Break restricted. Doreen also doesn't work
well in this deck due to a lack of much main phase
soulcharging, so you would be better off with Lunatic
Masquerade.
Good card, wouldn't say it's as
good as the Amon build (which has an amazing starter and
early game soulcharging + much better use of Doreen),
but solid regardless.
Rating: 3.5/5
Art: 5/5 extremely biased towards
DI art
Card Design: 4/5 Strider design is
pretty good but weakened by complete dependence on the
mechanic.
