Now that it's my turn to pick the cards this week and we can therefore start being a bit more productive with writing for Pojo, I shall take this moment to review the Trial Deck cards of vital importance before Nanya gets us started with the new Fighter's Collection, I guess.

So we kick things off with Chrono Dran. Interesting in that he's the first unit I've seen to have 2 types, Zodiac Time Beast and Gear Dragon. I smell power creep up in here and I don't approve. But anyway, he's got Forerunner as per usual for starters, and his GB1 skill works when he leaves RG circle and reaches the bind zone. He moves to the Soul, calls a Chronojet card from the deck, then when the turn ends, the called unit goes to the hand.

So he's obviously supposed to work with the new gimmick Gear Chronicle has called Time Leap, which binds a rearguard, calls a unit one Grade higher, then de-evolves it at the end of the turn. So let's take it from the top. You attack with a column with Chrono Dran in it. You then use Time Leap to bind Dran for a new booster, then use Dran to call Chronojet in the same column for another attack. Then the turn ends, Chronojet goes to the hand, and the other unit you called from the Time Leap goes back to the deck.

So in terms of overall advantage to yourself, this is actually a -1 to you. That's already not a point in its favour. Problem is, this doesn't actually wash you in terms of soft advantage either, because to not incur any more minuses calling over units in consecutive attacks you have to leave an entire column open. So all this actually does is just allow you to perform the average number of attacks with the average columns. So this can't even get you 4 attacks a la Nova Grappler without incurring losses either.

This will probably grow less shit as Time Leap is better supported, but that isn't until G Booster 7 at best so you have a good long while to just forget about it.

OMG!  IT'S SO CUTE!

GB1 forerunner that, when put into the bind zone, lets you move it to the soul to superior call Chronojet Dragon to the field and then at the end of the turn, that returns to your hand.

Huh, not bad, actually.  Cards that search for the main boss of the clan is always a good thing.

So, I guess Gear Chronicles are now going to be making use of the Bind Zone and not just spinning stuff.

I mean, it's not like Narukami and Nubatama are super common to see.

...Right?
