Nighttime Gentleman, Saint Germain
Here's something slightly more relevant. Saint Germain,
when used to defend when you have 10 or more soul, gains
10k shield, and if you have 15+ soul, any number of
units you have gain Resist until end of turn.
Well, I called it relevant, but it's a bit more
unwieldy, not to mention poorly timed. This will in all
likelihood be a follow-up from your other G Units, and
with a soul requirement as steep as that, outside of
Amon or Scharhrot, you're not looking to reliably use
the entire skill. It's also pretty useless for field
control occurring before Main Phase, or on attack before
Guard Step.
It's eh.

[Nighttime Gentleman, Saint-Germain]
Dark Irregular's Scryew
replacement, unless you can't get ten soul for some
reason.
Because of this unit's timing, the
Resist he bestows won't always come into play. Like, if
an Overlord swings, their Berserk Lord would resolve
before you decided to guard, but the second time the
Overlord swings, the Berserk Lord wouldn't be able to
kill anything. (Come to think of it, Saint-Germain
neuters The X if they swing with it first.) You as a
player should be able to see when the Resist will
actually be useful.
Simple and effective. I'd imagine
this being ran as a 2-of. The Fighter's Collection
G-Guard gives you two soul, so you'd probably still be
going into that more than Saint-Germain
