Frontier Star, Coral

Apparently Snow White of the Corals Claire counts as a Coral unit for English players. Who would play her anyway I have no fucking clue, but regardless.

New G4 Coral. What can she offer. Well, when she attacks, you Counterblast 1 and flip a G-Zone card. You then Soulcharge 1, bounce your rear-guards equal to the number of Corals in the soul, then for each bounced unit, she gains 5k until end of turn. If GB3 is online, she then lets you draw a card, then call two units from your hand to separate RG circles.

So compared to School Etoile Olyvia...well, assuming the same requirements, Coral nets you a +1 but only deals one damage without Crits, whereas Olyvia will force out a Perfect Guard at the very least at the expense of more power. Which do I prefer? Olyvia. G Units swinging alone already force a Perfect Guard regardless, so Coral's extra power tends to be pretty redundant.

What about the Coral chain itself? I'm still not a fan, honestly. The chain still doesn't net +1s for you for succeeding and are vanilla on RG circle. Something like Duos and hell even PRISMs can combine Olyvia with their own support for the best of both worlds. As long as Ride Chains continue to suffer from vanilla RG syndrome this doesn't seem viable.

As a card, she's okay. The problem is her deck.

[Frontier Star, Coral]

Because Olyvia wasn't beefy enough. So, in a Coral build, Frontier Star will end up as your first Stride 99% of the time, because she needs at least one of herself face-up for her Olyvia-esque column refresh, and the only Bermuda stride that could flip up G-Units is Frederica.

Frontier Star gains power instead of a critical, so if the opponent doesn't have the PG, its gonna be harder for them to guard Frontier with G-Guards.
Frontier also doesn't have Olyvia's restrictions of:
A) bouncing at least three units of different names. Let's say your board got screwed with by Denial Griffin+Sadegh. You'll still be able to call units with Frontier.
B) having to call the units to separate rows, meaning you can have your new Coral G2 beater(s) swing in first unboosted, then call them back with Frontier.
Frontier ends up drawing a card instead of gaining a crit, so there's your hard advantage. However, Olyvia can be accelerated into by taking the first turn in the game and G-Guarding when the opponent has first stride. Frontier can't be accelerated in that manner. Also, Olyvia gaining a crit demands the PG from the opponent, whereas the opponent can take the gamble and save it when Frontier attacks. Your preference of hard vs soft advantage will dictate which unit you consider better for your attack. (Saikyo's been rambling about what those mean for awhile now, so I assume some of y'all get it.)

All in all, you're gonna be using Frontier if you've still been trucking along with Coral all these years. Congrats.

I'm abusing the hell out of this unit.

4/5
